Breathe. Let Go.

Good day

Another thinking of you card. This one is for one of my boy's friends. I took a sentiment from Oprah Winfrey this time. Sometimes I think when you are in a certain situation it can be just so overwhelming that you can only breathe and let go. I think the preliminary and final school exam is often one of those moments. I played with lagoon, mink and nectarine and a Spellbinder die with some flowers from my stash. Simple, but she love simple things.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Sisterhood of Crafters - It's the thought that count (#2)
Color My Heart Color Dare - Lagoon, Nectarine & Mink
The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch 19 Aug - 1 September
Aud Sentiment #258 - Anything goes with a sentiment

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Learning is a treasure

Good day

Our matric children can actually look forward to end their academic year after a very disordered year. A year that should have many highlights and lowlights with a lot of expectations from Class 2020, they will go down in the history books as the year they survived a world pandemic. Probably not what they intended to write in their history books. The trail exams is 2 weeks away.
Today I made a card for my neighbour's daughter. Just something to wish her luck for the next 3 months to come. I used some techniques that I most definitely not use often. I used chalk to blend the background. I used black, blue and purple for the background. Then I used Versa Magic Perfect Plumeria to add some dots with a brush. The dragonfly is an emboss stencil that I used with some watercolour paint. I used a recycled ribbon for the centre. I love to add ribbon where paper meet, it just give a nice finishing touch. I made a bow with a brad as centrepiece. Gems from Prima Marketing with all the colours in add the final touch. The sentiment is computer generated.

Challenges I love to join:
Tuesday Morning Sketches #569
As you like it Challenge - How do you like to use a ribbon.
The Sisterhood Of Crafters - It's the thought that count
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge 25 August - 7 September - I used the bottom left to top right row - Purple/dots, grey/black dragonfly, blue blend
The Outlawz Crash your Stash August/September - Blending Chalks

Hope you have a joyful day!

A girl can't have

Good day

Teenagers all have something in common. Of which one thing is most definitely shoes. Some may lose that trend others keep them for life. My husband will say I have kept it for life. I think my very first pair of shoes I bought myself was a pair of red high heels and today I still have various pairs of red shoes in all shapes and heel sizes. When I saw All Dressed Up is sponsoring this round at Creative moments and one of the images is Shoes, I just had to play along. I have a teenager girl who will celebrate her 15th birthday next week. She likes blue and that made it much easier to start the project! I had to cut the image up to make it suite for the sketch though. I have used scraps for the circles and coloured the images with Prisma pencils, added glitter and some rhinestones as finishing touch.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Tuesday Morning Sketches #568
The Outlawz Festive Fridays 22 August - 3 September - Female birthday
Creative Knockouts #364 - Something to say
All Dressed Up - #108 - Anything goes with ADU image
Aud Sentiment #258 - Anything goes with sentiment

Hope you'll come and join us at Creative Moments!

Skipping rope

Good day

This is my last post as DT for Creations in Pink. Time to have other adventures. We are sponsored by Hetty Clare this round and I used Bows and Bonnets Skipping Rope. I have coloured her with watercolour pencils. I also tried something different by tearing the Tim Holtz Kraft Core paper instead of using ribbon. I used some Botanic Vintage paper from Nellie Snellen on the back of the torn paper. Used a Spellbinder oval and some pearls as finishing touch. I took on the challenge at The Outlawz to used kraft, Vintage Pink for Creations and pink and a cream as the third colour to pair the pink for a more vintage look. Love white/cream and pink. It is so feminine.

Allsorts Wk 585/586 - Summer fun

The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge 11 - 24 August - Kraft, Vintage Pink & Cream with twist of Paper tearing

Elephant

Good day

Today I played a bit out of my comfort zone. CAS. It is not quite my style, but with the image and sketch as starting point, I just could not add anything more. The image was from Robyn Fettish and is one of my oldest images and dates back to May 2010. The sentiment is from Desert Diva. The paper is from Just for Men from Marianne design. I added a piece of odd grey paper in the middle. Image was coloured with Prisma Pencils.

Citrus colours at Creative Moments

Good day

At Creative Moments we have 2 challenges per month. On the 7th and on the 22nd. I'm fortunate enough to be part of the 7th's design team. Sheepski is our sponsor this round and I had the opportunity to play with Wine Time.   At first I thought I'll try for a rosé wine, but in the end ended up with a white wine. I also took up the challenge at Incy Wincy where they gave us 3 options for there challenge, but I ended up using only 2, the sketch and the moving parts. The clock parts can move. I used papers from my stash.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Incy Wincy 3 -15 August - Triple choice
Crafty Friends #141 - Summer colours
Allsorts Week 583/4 - Make it masculine
Sheepski design challenge #41 - No rules
Sheepski Facebook challenge #49 - Anything with Sheepski image or twist "for someone special"

Oldie but Goodie

Good day

On a Thursday we would like to inspire you with some old images of Bugaboo at Catch the Bug. Today I used the Floral set 1 and used my favourite paper from W&M with some a new corner butterfly die which I got for my birthday! There is a new vibe in the air lately. The August winds also started to blow and the Jasmines bloom. Really good signs of spring on it's way! Hopefully our lockdown will end soon too.  I took inspiration from a colour challenge too, but it is not quite spot on the exact colours.

Guest designer Feeling Sketchy!

Good day!

This is a bit of belated post, but we had a lovely weekend to refresh a bit before the new week starts again! I was invited by Andreja from Feeling Sketchy to join them as guest designer for challenge #245, which is always a honour! You have a month long to join us with this fun sketch!
I used one of my latest digi's from The Paper Shelter called Green Thumb! In their pre-coloured image selection it is coloured in lovely greens so when I decided to use it I thought I'll give it a go in greens as well. Though I made it for a friend of mine who loves gardening bit not necessarily love green. Paper is from First Edition's Hide Away block. Image was coloured with Prisma Pencils. I used brads from my sentiment collection and used gems instead of pearls, since I did not had orange pearls.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Paper Shelter - Anything goes
The Outlawz Colour challenge 28 July - 11 August - Choose 2 from bottom half & 1 from top half
Creative Knockouts #361 - Tic Tac Toe - Pearls, image, Ribbon
The Outlawz Monday Greeting Cards - 20 July - 2 August - Anything goes
Colour Crazy Craft Challenge Week 30 - Anything goes

Hope you'll join us with this lovely sketch!
