New adventure at 7

Hallo Everybody

I have not been on crafting lately, since it is time to pack, but I would like to share one of the last cards I made. As I went through my papers I have scrapped these blues together. This is Changito from Stampendous and I just could not resist the fish templates from sissix with it, so a new adventure starts. Not only for the boy for whom the card is intended for, but also for us as a family.
In a few days time I will be on the southern end of planet earth, and hopefully still be crafting.
So until we talk again keep well and enjoy what ever autumn may bring.

Friday 1 October 2010

At 5 you are more or less on a planet of your own with no cares what so ever. This image from Sarah Kay gives you the feeling that you can enjoy the moment in the prairie with no cares in the world. I have used paper from "the all about girls stack" and the flower ribbon is made with my favourite fiskars border punch - sunburst. The tag and number was made with the help of a Cuttlebug embossing and cutting template. I have finished it of with some peel-off's and jellies.
Hope you have a carefree day.

Autumn on it's way

A quick second post for this day.

This lady with her dog is from Penny Johnson, Stampavie, and was another great inspiration for this time of year where the leaves started to change and fall and a chill sneaks in the day. The paper is from my stach and I made the leaves with the help of my cuttlebug and the frill is from Marianne's design template. Although winter is more associated with black I felt that red for the jacket will blend in more with autumn and will give a bit of warmth.

Have a warm day, where ever you are.

Going places

Good morning hope your day is as sunny and bright as mine.

Since I got so much inspiration from the girls on line, I did some shopping lately. This one is from Stampavie and is calling going places. This lady, all dressed up, gives you the idee that she loves life and loves thrills, although I am not sure whether it is her pet dog or her teddy bear that is with her in the car. So to add a bit of frills I used my trumpet corner punch and some peel-offs for the corners. The dotted paper is from the glittered all dressed up stack DCWV and the sentiment is by hand.
I am entering this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge where Donna has chosen the theme of "Transport".

Have a splendid day.

Psst! Have you heard.....

After such a beautiful late summer's day I would like to share with you this special card. It is for my niece and when I first saw this image from Stampavie I thought it so appropriate for someone who becomes 17. Through all my travel throughout the world it seems as if the "mod" stays the same at this age.
The back paper is from the "lime rickey paperpad" from Basic Grey and the front one is from "the all dressed up stack" from DCWV and I have used a Marianne design CreaTables template to make the centre piece for the ribbon. The image was coloured with Aquarelles and finished of with a spellbinder cut & emboss template as well as the small tag for the sentiment. The sentiment I have wrote by hand in Afrikaans.
I wish her a memorable day and year full off blessings.

Beatiful Friday evening to all.

Dankie - Merci - Thank You

On this grey day I would like to share this colourful card. At last I have figured out the design on my Craft Robo. So the basic red card with sentiment was cut with a craft robo. The happy frog is from the Penny Black series: Toadily Happy and coloured with aquarelles and bordered with the help of spellbinders cutting and embossing. The colourful rose paper is from my stack. With a finishing touch in the corner with a little red peel-off corner.
Sometimes people spoil you with such thoughtful gifts that you surely like to jump with joy. This is exactly how I felt when I made this card.

May all be spoiled on this special day.

Hey Sista!

Good morning on this first day of a new month.

Something different on this new day. I had this template(11x15cm) for a sliding card for a while but had to adjust it a bit to accomodate my image from Stampavia. I must say I am having a lots of inspiration from all the new stamping images. To give some balance I used a Fiskars image on the right side with some confetti flowers and embellishment. The stripy paper worked well to emphasis the centre and I finished the borders with a spellbinder template.

So now I am going to share a cuppa coffee!

Good day!

Summer time - BBQ time

It's summer time and a good time to be outdoor for a BBQ. Unfortunately my picture display is not a BBQ but rather a more tradional style of preparing food in Africa namely "potjiekos". I bought this stamp when we were on holiday in South Africa and it always give me some nostalgi to use it.
I have made this card a while ago when we invited some French people over for a more traditional South African dinner. I coloured the little man with aquarelles and used a small square red ripple cardstock to bring in some colour contrast with the brown cardstock and of course a small South African flag that I have cut from my sticker supplies.
We had such a lovely day and night and everybody enjoyed it! So all the preparations was a pleasure.
As the French say Profitez bien!

So Chic

This one is for all the chic ladies at Cupcake Craft Challenges who made it a success in this 2 years and who succeeds to make such beautiful cards week after week. You are all an inspiration for my soul.

As for the challenge this week to celebrate 2 years it is 2 ribbons, 2 flowers and 2 papers. I had this 3D image almost a year now and it was haunting me lately, so a good time to get crafting. Since it is such a impressive picture I decided to give it centre stage and used only plain black and pink paper and not to use to much bright colours in my flowers and ribbons. I have used a fiskar punch and just threaded the ribbon through and the silver ribbon gives some glitter to the card.
So this is to another 200 years of Cupcake Crafting.
Have a creative day!

What a great achievement!

From a bit of drizzled france a great good morning!

Although I don't feel like celebrating on this rainy day, I did enjoy making this card for a friend. I do not know her father but I thought that Edwin from the Magnolia series will do good on this special celabration, so is blue a very stately colour, and I belief that a person that reach such a age is very stately too. I have used paper from lime rickey paper pad and a vellum frame which I embossed using a Marianne Design template finishing it of with a peel-off sentiment.
Hope you have a day of celebration.

A bit of vintage

Hallo Everybody
It is still summer holidays in France and we do enjoy the beautiful warmer days, although it seems as if the weather is a bit upside down in the world. So to keep a bit of sanity I have made a new 3D card. A bit of different this time where it is only blocks that give you the 3D effect. I just loved this image and immediately decided that this one will be for my father in law, for I always have a bit of nostalgia when I see old steam trains. I have embossed the words on the blue vellum and finished the card of with some peel-offs.
A bit on the plain side, but it is sometimes the plain things that brings back the nostalgia and keeps lingering.

Have a perfect day!

A card for a rugbyman.

Hallo Everybody, after a very nice summer break we are back into crafting.
This card I have made just before we left, in the mist of the Soccer World Cup, but it was for a rugby man. So I had to search through my scrap stash.  I have found this cardboard rugbyball and post, with which I have used silver emboss powder. The cup, shirt and tocks is just sticker that I had and I have finished it of with blue jelly dots in the corners. It is a bit of a plain card with not much technique.

Hope you have a wonderful inspirational crafting day!

Summer is here!

Summer is in the Northern Hemisphere and there is a lightness in the air. Most people have a summer holiday to look forward too or family or friends coming to visit. With the longer days more people are enjoying a nice sundowner together. This lady with her cocktail in hand surely makes you feel like endless beaches and warm sun on your skin. I have used paper from Trend line with a bit of ribbon thread through a creatable from Marianne's design. I loved this, because it's a bit different from the straight line effect and a sentiment from Cardmaking and papercraft. I have coloured the lady with aquarelles.

May all have a pleasant and relaxing summer holiday.

A Cupcake Swirl

Front

Inside
Hallo Everybody from a sunny France.
It is the beginning of summer and everything is in bloom. I saw this pop-up design some while ago and needed to do something with it. So finally I had time to sit down and play. The background is paper from Trend line by Kars and then I played with some swirls and flowers from Marianne design and a cupcake to take centre stage.
Hope this will bring some warmth for the lady in South Africa, who is experiencing one of the coldest winters in ages.
Have a pleasent days!

Happiness

Sometimes you just want to dance because you are happy. So what a coincidence that I have found this peel-offs. I surely felt that this 3D Chinese lady felt like dancing with happiness. I have used a "Nellie Snellen - Wonderful Nature" corner embossing template of which I embossed the one and have cut away all the openings in the other red one. Using red chalk on the edges to give it a bit of dreamy look. I have made this card for a certain friend of mine that has the same reflection of grace than the chinese lady on the card.

Thinking of you

Hallo Everybody from a grey day in the Pyrénées.
It's a bit rainy and cold this last few days. So a good excuse to stay in home and craft a bit. The stamp is from Penny Black's series toadily happy and the paper from lime rickey paper pad - basic grey. I do not have a birdy to match the paper, but I thought the hearts match. I used the foil technique on the sentiment and a Nellie's multi frame in the corner. A bit colour for this drizzly day.
Hope you have warm day, where ever you are!

A small thank you

We all have special people in our life, not necessary friends, but people that make your life a bit easier going. This card I made for a lady that helped me a lot lately and it falls in the request for "Dazzle Us" at the team from Cupcake Craft Challenge.
The background paper is from Toga and I've used a Bling Bling Doodle template from Marianne design for the embroidery in metallic thread from DMC, finishing it of with some pearls and of course a 3D flower design on the right.
So just a small thank you to all!

Have a Woofferful day

Hi to All

Just to tell you there is a new challenge blog and it's called InLinkz and they have their first challenge "Boy Birthday" in the colour palette of 2 shades of blue, green and light orange. So I digged out my daschund embossing template, since a dog is any boy's best friend, and used the paw print and paper of The Pet Stack. The sentiment is my own, although I was not sure on exactly how to spell it. I've used some embossing powder to emphasis the emboss work on the daschund, since I did not feel like to much colour in it. I finished the card off with some bones punches.

Untill next time.....go well.

A Sunny Sunflower Just For You

Hallo Everybody....summer is here in the northern hemisphere. With everything so green, it is like an open invitation to be outside in the fresh air and in nature. It's not only humans that get out of their winter hiding places, but all other creatures also join in the invitation. Like this Mouse with her Flower from the Tina Wenke (distributed by Stampavie) collection, coloured in by aquarelles. The background paper and sentiment is from a Cardmaking & Papercraft series, with a nice butterfly brad as a finishing touch. With all this bright colours I would like to join the girls over at the Cupcake Craft Challenges #93 in Summer Delight Challenge for this week.
 'Till next time!

A Pirate Ship

Hi everybody on this bit cooler sunny day!

Today I would love to share this pirate card with you. I had this vellum paper, with the pirate prints on, for quite a while and just could not get a proper design for it. So a little boy celebrated his birthday a while ago and suddenly I had some inspiration. I have used my Cuttlebug Pirate Dies Cuts to give a finishing touch after I used the ripture technique on the vellum, to give the card a bit of a worn look, typically of an used map of a Pirate.

Springtime.....Butterfly time

With early spring in the air, all the butterflies are coming out too. So with a bit of inspiration from nature this card was born. A 3 fold wavy card with my favourite 3D technique with the pansies. A small butterfly brad to hold the ribbonbow in place and a peel-off sentiment to finish the card off.

Spread your wings....smell the flavour of spring....and enjoy every moment.

Conquer the Wild

Hi Everybody! Hope you enjoy the day. Summer gave us a taste of what is ahead of us, here in the northern hemisphere. Today I would like to share this card with the girls at Creative Cottage Challenge where they have the challenge: One for the Boys.
Edwin, the zoo keeper, from the Magnolia Rubberstampseries is coloured in with promakers to match the African theme of the card. The paper is from the Safari Chic Stack from Toga. I had the Explorer Livingstone in mind when I made the sentiment, since it is a new decade ahead for my brother.
Have a wild day!

Moonlight Fairy

Wishing on a moonlight fairy......with some embroidery in a metal thread in this new Marianne Star Collection design template. I have used turquois and pink cardstock to emphasise the colours in the 3D picture. Adding just a finishing touch with silver peel-offs. I belief there is something of a little girl in all women......hope you share the feeling......
Wishing you enough time to enjoy the small things in life....like enjoying moonlight and wishing upon stars.

A Bit of Black and White

Hallo Everybody from a very chilly southern France. I was in a bit of black and white mood lately. Today I've played a bit with my peel-offs. Tried something different from a normal square centre. The butterflies are though cuttlebug productions, but I thought it gives a nice finishing touch. So good luck for a bit of sun soon and summer on it's way.

Sunshine smile to all!

A Cooking Birthday

I've been in and out of town lately, so I did not do a lot of crafting these days. But I would like to share this card with you. I've bought this stamp a few years ago in South Africa and thought it so typically african. In this card I did not colour it in but used perfect pearl powders, that gives you just a bit of glaze. Beads is also part of the african culture, but I've only used gold beads to give some colour in the black and white card. So I wish my friend a cooking birthday!

Have a great day!

Happy 40th!

We're celebrating a special friend's 40th birthday today. So I thought to make something different and to start off with a circle. The purple was done with a Fiskars round circle punch and the flowers were done with a Clippunch flowerset. This is a set with 2 punches where you first make the small clip and then the bigger flower. I made small cuts in the puple and then I slided the white flowers in and finished it off with some stones. The stamp is one of Smookie, done by Nellie'C. The Peel-off's sentiment finishes the card off. Unfortunately we cannot be with her, but we are raising a glass of champagne with her on this special occasion.
Santé!

A Warm Thank You

This is my second Thank You card that I want to share with you all. I have played with my cuttlebug in this one, so the corners and the gold embossing was done with the cuttlebug cutting and embossing templates. I have used shadow stamping and bronze embossing powder in the sentiment from the Brenda Walters selection. Finishing it of with a nice froggy from the toadily happy series from Penny Black coloured with aquerelles. Although this is my favourite colours, I don't often do cards in them.
Have heart warming Sunday!

Thank You Kitty

Hallo everybody! I have not posted for a while since I have been away visiting family, but I would like to share some of my thank you cards with you. The first is a very colourful one with a little kitty from the Inkando selection which I stamped in a topaz colour and out lined with dark brown. The words, that is thank you in Afrikaans, was cut with a craft robo and the corners where done with my trumpet flower corner punch from EK success, one of my favourites. The dotted paper comes from the pet stack range.

Cupcake Craft Challenges # 85 - Make your own flowers

Dusting of my technique on quilling for this week's challenge at Cupcake Craft ChallengesVictoria  have requested to make your own flowers this time. Starting my card with one of Anja's beauties - embossing template on top and then I have used this "jumping for joy frog" from my Penny Black Toadily Happy series. I have coloured it with aquarelles and finished it off with the flowers with the quilling technique.

Toys for boys

Since I only have boys, it is sometimes very difficult to find a proper theme for them. But with the Cuttlebug - pirate series I have some new inspiration. I also have use for all of my bits of scrap paper. In the background I have used blowpens in orange, green and black and the sentiment (french for a treasure hunt) was done with Scap's Curly Alphabet and embossed with copper powder. For a bit of an adventurous birthday, go out and find the treasure!

The Creative Cottage Challenge 4

The Creative Cottage Challenge 4: Pretty Pink

Could not resist! I have bought this 3D - Le Suh squares - sheet a while ago and now I finally have a reason to do a card. Not that I have decided on what occasion. I have finished it of with voile ribbon from Artemio which I thread through a string of  pink pearls and a flower in the corner. Somehow it gives a mistery impression.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #84

Cupcake Craft Challenge Spring or Easter with a lots of Chocolate

I'm entering this card in the Cupcake Craft Challenge with the theme of chocolates. The easter egg's cardstock come from the "safari chic" range of Toga. I thought it blend in well with all the colours of chocolate and the zig-zag pattern gives you the impression of a chocolate wrapper. I have used the foil technique on the tag. In the background I used my cuttlebug's styled flowers embossing template and tulip corners.

Sunday 28 March 2010

Butterflies

With spring in the air in the northern hemisphere and the daffodiles in full bloom, I could not resist in using my favourite technique - 3d - for this special card. I used my craft robo to cut the butterfly template, from the Kars Elegance series. The 3D flowers is from Kars step by step series and I used Canson cardstock in blue, red and olive green. I have coloured the 2 butterflies with glitter and finished it of with a sentiment from peel-off.
So my first two post done, with some butterflies on my tummy.
Good night

Celebrating by having fun!

I am celebrating 6 years in France with my first post by having fun. I have used a ragdoll fairy stamp from the Marianne design collection in combination with paper from the Vintage collection of ColorCore Cardstock and finishing of with a Swirl template in Anja's Style and strass from stamperia.
