Growing old is optional

I've used eyelets as my metal object.

This is a close-up on the foil technique I've used and a paper clip as another metal object.

Good Day

Today I just had to escape to do some crafting to get some sanity again. It has been a rough few weeks lately. I've started this card a few weeks ago with some challenges with dots and stripes, but could never finish it in time. At first I had some dotted paper in my bigger oval, but changed it on last thought. It would have been a real reflection of my mood and it would have been probably be a reflection of the inner struggle people sometimes have in growing old. I changed it to the yellow corrugated paper to calm my mood. This is a digi and sentiment from Bugaboo and is called Gus Birthday optional. I just love it. On the blue I've used a texture plate to make the lines. Used a Fiskar border punch on the red foil and the striped paper is from DCWV - the grade school stack with glitter and foil. Craft your days away has a challenge on metal, so instead of the usual charm embellishment I have dig out my glue pen and foil for the motorbike and the edges on the sentiment tag. The other metal objects are eyelets and a paper clip.
Challenges I'm joining:
The Outlawz Colour challenge #CC042412 - Sea Breeze, Red and yellow with the twist of stripes

Craft you days away #43 - Metal

Purrfect

My project, taken in bad light, unfortunately.

The colour combo I've used for my project.

Good Day
This morning we still had some lovely autumn weather an I was still looking at al the beautiful colours of the leaves that fall. This afternoon it closed up and we had a few drops of rain and so the temperature dropped and there is a chill in the air. It is not normal, for us, to have such a quick change in weather, otherwise I would have taken the picture this morning.
The digital image from the cat with the butterfly on the left is from Just some Lines, one of this round's digis at the Crafter's digital Art Centre and the butterfly on the right is the freebie this week at Bugaboo stamps and the sentiment is one of Desert Diva's freebies. The glitter effect designer paper is from First Edition's spring drop, the embossed orange is from Trend Line, Kars and the rest from my stash. Something to brighten up my day.
Challenges I'm joining
JUGS #133 - Hot Pink, Lime Green, Orange
CDAC progressive challenge round 16 - cdacpc16 JSL
Catch the bug Sketch Challenge 21/04 - Sketch

You are precious

Good Day

It is a new round at the Crafter's digital art centre and as usual they have some top designer's digis available with which you have to submit your project. This time I've used two digis - the young girl with the bird is from Whoopsie Daisy Digis(cdacpc16 "WD") and the bird cage is from Nana Vic (cdacpc16 "NV"). I have to admit that the versatility of digital images is just wonderful, since I had to turn the girl around to make the scene of the card and then the song of Annie Lennox - Little Bird, came up in my mind - "Little bird don't fly away, You're everything I need to be.....".
All papers and embellishments are from my stash and I used Fluer de Lis Rectangles and Perfect Petals, Heartfelt creations from Spellbinders for the borders - Tuesday Trio #115 has a sketch with the request of making/designing your own frame. The sentiment is from Desert Diva. I also have to admit that my colour combo choice is not quite a choice for shabby chic, though the image wants something in that direction.
Challenges I'm joining:
Crafter's digital art centre - Round 16 - Something in the air.
Party Time Tuesday ptt#64 - colour combo - New grass, Black, Amaranth, French Rose
Tuesday Trio #115 - Sketch with your own frame

Deep Ocean Challenge #23 - Inspired by a Song - Annie Lennox - Little Bird

Thank you and have a splendid weekend.

Opposites atrack

A quick hello again!

While we had some power failures this morning I created this card. I was tickled by CAS-friday's Opposites attrack challenge CFC48 and immidiately thought about yellow and purple. Yesterday when I looked for the crochet flower for my previous project I bought these 3 as well, since I had a peek on 365 Cards day 47 's sketch and this morning opening blogger I saw Crafty Creation's challenge #166 for yellow and one colour of your choice. The sentiment is a rubberstamp saying get well soon in Afrikaans. I used brads and yellow confetti flowers for the inside of the crochet flowers. I used a big spellbinder for the shape of the card.

Thank you and have a beautiful day!

Special celebrations!

Good Morning

I had such a lovely time with my French friends in the bush, that it took me a day or two to recover. But in my head I played with some ideas on a special birthday card. With a few help from some challenges this project came up. I've used a taupe cardstock with a golden undertone as base. The peach is from my stash. The images is from Penny Black's Hugs clear stamp. The taupe with flower glitter effect is from New Leaf by Mindy Terasawa, the scraplabel is from Marianne's design and embroid with silver thread, butterfly diecut from Spellbinder and corner diecut from cuttlebug. The lace, pearls and butterfly brad, coted with perfect pearl powder, are from the stash. The Outlawz colour challenge has a twist with something crochetted.....one technique I could not mastered, so I supported the local ladies club and bought this flower and some others.

Today's challenges I'm joining:

Craft Your Passion #106 - Diecuts and punches

Lexi's Creations #63 - Punches and diecuts

The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge # CC041712 - Taupe, peach and white/off white

Beary Angel

Good Day!

Another mother's day card, this time with a bugaboo digi called a cloud sitter, but with the sentiment from Desert Diva, I've decided it will just do for a nice mother's day card. It is the next round at the Crafter's Digital Art Centre with the theme of It's all about bears and they have some beautiful bear digis this round. I've used some perfect pearl dust on the wings and some yellow glitter on the hallow and stars and the daisy paper is also bit bling but it is not quite visible on the photo. The striped paper is from New Leaf and the avocado colour is from DCWV. All the other stuff is from my stash.

Welcome to an African Vacation

Good Day!

In a few days time my friends of France are arriving. I don't know whom is the most excited about this visit. I'm also looking forward to go to the Kruger park with them. This is probably the biggest game reserve in Africa. I made them this welcome card. I've used a lot of digis and stamps to make this card and I wanted to join Tuesday trio with there sketch. Backing paper is from Safari Chic from DCWV. The paw border is from Meljen's Design. The girafe is from Ollyfant Stamps - Kars, the compass, vacation sentiment and vacation car are from Scrappy Cat and the monkey bienvenue digi is designed by Desert Diva. The metal camera and eyelets is from my stash as well as the paw stickers. I've printed the bienvenue digi a bit to big to fit into the borders of my card, so after the 3d paint dried, I've made an incut on the monkey's jaw and slided the border paper into it, to give it that peek over look.

Challenges I'm joining:

Divas by Design #29 - Anything goes + birthday blog hop!!!

Cards for men #7 - The great outdoors

Make my Monday #MMM43 - Wheels for men (there are wheels on, but not as the main focus)

Sunny days awaits you

Good day again!

This time I'm slipping in on a banana skin to join Digistamp 4 Joy's water challenge. I've wanted to do this all week, but just didn't had time to finish it. Then I saw there are another 3 hours left and I saw the colour scheme at The Outlawz and I took the risk. This is the little mermaid from Meljen's design. For the sand I've used distressed powder from Tim Holtz and I used some glitter on the bodice and crown of the mermaid. Used some rhinestones and ribbon from my stash with granite effect paper on the background.

Challenges I'm joining:

Meljen's design # 103 - Anything goes with Meljen's digi and join them on there 2nd anniversary bloghop, some beautiful prizes to be won,

In my sewing box.....

Good day!

Seasons are changing rapidly, here, down under. Last week when we spoke, it was still summer and this week it is about 10 degrees less. Not that I have a big problem with the cooler weather, but I don't like to have cold feet.

Today's inspiration was triggered by the Cupcake Craft Challenge #186 - Sewing box. In a few weeks time it will be mother's day in South Africa and my mother in law has a passion for sewing and as I went through all the challenges at Feline Playful, pink and cream and pastels came out. All colours to suite my mother in law. The digi is from Digi my World, called mannequindress. The corners and embossing is done with my cuttlebug. I've added lace, wool thread, metal thread in faux needle and buttons to it. The other embellies is left overs from a previous project and just added some xtra flair to the card. The sentiment is taken from Desert Diva. She's very sweet and can make any sentiment on request. Sure something to keep in mind. All papers is from my stash.

Other challenges I'm joining:

Quirky Craft Challenge #7 - Sketch
Sketchy Colours # 111 - Pink and Cream
Fashionista Challenge #1 - Anything goes for girls
Anything Goes #7 - Anything goes

Hope you have a lovely day and thank you for your visit.
