Style is eternal

Good day

When i saw the sketch at Feeling Sketchy these handbags idea came up. Somewhere you'll always find a lady that just love handbags and they feel incomplete if they do not have a matching handbag. I have this stamp & die set from Sizzix Hero Arts, but have not used it alot. So I start searching for all kinds of yellow papers and faux leather. In the end all the different papers & faux leather were more or less in the same shade of yellow. Then I decided to make use of different ways to present it. I used some gold embossing powder on the glitter bag and clear embossing powder on the sentiment. Add some real ribbon the faux leather and used only the die cuts on the textured paper (3rd from the right) with some recycled chain. I also digged into my parchment paper & templates to do some paper piercing, something I have not done in ages!

Brat liberty new release at Bugaboo

Good day

Jodie designed this lovely Brat Liberty just in time for 4th of July festivities! Though I'm not American I did play with the red, white and blue and stars and stripes. I made this card for a friend of mine whom had an operation on Monday and she loves red & blue too. I've coloured my image with Prisma Pencils and used bits and pieces from my stash for the rest. Find some twine that suit the theme and 2 star brads in blue. Hope you'll pop by at the shop and buy him.

Sunshine delight for Creations in Pink

Good day

This is a bit of belated post since our new challenge at Creations in Pink has started yesterday on the 15th. We are still busy with some house renovations and my hubby is still working from home, so I do not have that much time for myself in my room. Enough moaning. Here is my creation for this month. We are sponsored by Polkadoodles, who is so kind to sponsor a $10 gift voucher. I used Sunshine delight which I coloured with my Prisma pencil and then I tried something new. I used my versamagic ink pads with a dry wipe and made my own background. I used my butterfly circle die from Spellbinder (though it is just bigger than my image circle) and used the butterfly pieces as embellishments with some rhinestones. Found some polkadot paper in the same colours as the ink to cut the flowers. Sentiment is also from a Spellbinder die.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday #185
Use your Stuff #400 - It's a Girl thing
613 Avenue Create #234 - Create a blended background
Sweet Stampin - Die cuts and punches
Polkadoodles Wk24 - Anything goes
Digi Choosday Wk23 - Anything goes

Hope you'll find some lovely inspiration from the team at Creations in Pink to join us this month.
Hugs from Africa!

Deacon celebrate!

Good day

With this year's adventures we surely missed all the sport events and we were like super excited about this year, since both my boys would have played for their school's first hockey team. Then came COVID 19 and the world's sport have stopped. I think that was one of the things we have missed the most these past couple of months.

With a new month it is time for a new challenge at Creative Moments. Being also on the Bugaboo design team I thought I'll just make a project for both, since Bugaboo is our sponsor at Creative Moments. I played with Deacon Baseball in our school's colours. Though this is a CAS project it took me ages, since after each element I had to do something for somebody in my house. We are busy repainting the house. Sometimes it is so frustrating, but hopefully it will be finished soon. I used a border punch with different balls. I also found a sticker of a baseball in my scrapbook stash. The sentiment is a stamp from Purple Magnolia. I have fussy cut Deacon and used some foam stickers to add him to the card.

Challenges I'm joining:
Crafty Friends #137 - Anything goes
Sweet Stampin - Masculine/Father's day
Crafty Catz #509 - Anything goes with twist of CAS
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday - 4 - 17 June - Party time

Hope you'll come and join the team(s) of Creative Moments and Stella Says Sketch #811.
Hugs from Africa!

Peekin'in on a 60 year old

Good day

It is the first Saturday of June! Can't believe how this year have flew, even while we were in lockdown now for 3 months. My eldest went to school, yesterday again. He surely sighed with relief to be at school again, though it is in a new system of social distancing, sanitizing and masks. Slowly we probably are getting into gear to a new normal.

Saturdays also means there is a new challenge at Catch the Bug and it is time for an Anything Goes challenge. I used the mini set - cat blocks. I made this card for a friend of ours, whom will turn 60 next week. While we are at level 3 of lockdown with more movement, we are still not allowed to socialize with friends and families. From there my choice of image. My sentiment inside I also say: Just peeking in to see how a 60 year look. I used a Cats font. I just added some stripes with a white gel pen.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Tuesday Morning Sketches #557
The Outlawz Tuesday colour challenge 2 - 15 June - Black, white + one with twist of stripes.
Unicorn #55 - Masculine
Use your stuff #399 - Masculine/Father's day
Crafty Catz #509 - CAS

Hope you will come and join us at Catch the bug.
Hugs from Africa!
