Different way of back to school

Changito with his computer

Shelly's image colour combo courtesy of design seeds

Good Day
This is one of those haunted colour combo's. With us, exiting winter we still have all these beautiful fruit in our markets and the colour sure suite spring too. Our school year do not start in September, but in January so this is a head start for next year's back to school and I opted to play with a more modern version of back to school since almost every second person has a "kindle" or access to e-books through smartphones, Ipads and computers. This is Changito at Home from Stampendous Cling Stamp, which I coloured with H2O pencil and cut out and used 3D foam glue. The back designer paper is from Trend line and I used an arrow Cuttlebug emboss folder for the embossing. The centre paper is from DCWV's for the boys stack. Border punch used is from Upikit.

Challenges I'm joining:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp #121 - Sketch
Shelly Images - Colour combo
Digistamp4Joy #49 - Back to School
Catch the bug - Recipe Challenge - 3 colours (yellow, orange, red), 2 buttons, 1 ribbon

Vivien Verjaar

Stamp from Leere - Going Places
Colour challenge from The Outlawz CC0812
 Sketch from Critter Sketch Challenge

Good Morning

I do present a diva for today. She is from Leere Stamps and is called going places and is distributed by Stampavie. I played with my favourite border punch from Fiskar called sunburst in 3 different papers and the flowers was diecutted from Docrafts (Xcut) called Petal posy. I have added some purple colour on the edges and some glitter on the bottom diecut. The other twist is to add a letter from the alphabet. I've cutted the V from card stock and covered it with glitter. It just somehow worked out on the name and in Afrikaans verjaar means birthday so the sentiment says Vivien's birthday.

Good Morning

My babies are all big, so baby cards is not necessary my forté currently, but the above inspiration just did triggered my mojo this morning. The designer paper is from First Edition's spring collection, the swirls is done with a Marianne's design template and the diecut is from Nellie Snellen. All the other stuff from my stash.

My mojo was inspired by the following challenges:

You Rock

 My project
Sketch from the Outlawz Wednesday challenge

Colour combo from the Play Date Cafe

Good Day

It is Friday afternoon and I'm looking forward to a bit of creative weekend. As usual I have a lot of ideas and will see which will be finished by the end of the weekend.
When I saw this colour challenge over at the Play Date cafe I just could not resist, the green reminds me of live. Though I think the splash of lime might be to much on my project.
My digi is a freebie on the Outlawz site and is from Mayzy Art and she sure looks hip. The music paper is from Melissa Frances and the rest from my stash. The sentiment says: You Rock and Happy Birthday. I'll showcase it at the Old Back Porch 52 Card pick-up too.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Outlawz Wednesday Challenge 22/8 - Sketch
The Play Date Cafe #146 - Colour combo - Black, White and splash of lime

Black and White

Good Day

This was triggered by the Cupcake Craft Challenge on Monday to make a project in Black and White. I has been ages since I've used this rubber stamp of mine and probably the very first time I stamp it in black too. Normally I do it in pale blue or grey. I've coloured the birds in black. The sentiment - Thank you - is done with some heat embossing, then I've found these twine in black in some unforgotten stash. The border punch is from Fiskar.

Challenges I'm joining:
Cupcake Craft Challenge #206 - Black and White
Crafty Creations #184 - Gems and twine
Craft your passion #124 - Power of 3 - 3 Guinea fowls
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything goes
Forever Friends # 43 - Anything goes with an animal

Thank you and have a beautiful day.

Thinking of you

Good Day

Hope you all are keeping well, were you are. Here the temperature is rising and the signs of spring show, but we wait for the rain in anticipation.
Though I am fond of flowers I don't often do card with only flower digis, though I received a great gift last year, with beautiful flower digis from Joanna Sheen. This one is from the Pamela West series and I've coloured it with H2O pencils. It just suited the colour combo so well, as well as the theme of sympathy. The sentiment in Afrikaans is saying: I am thinking of you. The DP is from first edition's Leaf series and has some bling on the flowers. The twist is to add fall bling and I came up with this leaf head pin and added some beads in the end, to prevent injury of some kind. Final touch of gems on the diecut.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Outlawz Tuesday colour combo
Robyn Fetish #121 - Use a digi
Divas by Design #49 - Anything goes

Thank you for your visit and have a nice day!

Footprints in the sand

Left hand trifold card
Open card with sentiment: Leave your footprints where there is no path
Just Us Girls #150 colour challenge

Hallo
This time I've played with another technique. I've used a Fiskar tear edger on the kraft and blue to create a beach effect. With a Fiskar hand punch I've punched these footprints on scrap paper and pasted it on the kraft I am  experiencing a bit of printer problems, so the colour did not print correctly, so I had to re-trace it with a fine liner.
Challenges I'm joining:
Just us Girls Challenge #150 - Colour combo
CASual - Fridays #CFC66 - Splish Splash
Crafty Cardmakers #73 - Like to be beside the seaside

Thank you

There is a vibrancy in the air

Jackson Digital's colour challenge

Good Morning

Sunday morning while my husband and I had an extra minute to lie in bed, I realised there is a vibrancy in the air, we heard birds chirping as if mother nature wants to spread the news that spring is coming. It lifted my heart a bit, though I still struggle with the consequences of winter.
Now, to my project, I've been inspired by Jackson's digital colour challenge. Tuesday I've received a gift wrapped in these colours and I though it looks good together. I've just interpreted the grey as a silver. The morning glory designer paper is from Crafter's companion's companion cuties, the other one is from First Edition's daydream. The circle diecut is from Simply 2 die 4 and the flower and leaves from Les D'cos. I've used silver string on the circle. The sentiment is from Facebook and the morning glory digi is from Joanna Sheen's Pamela West series. The ribbon, 3 buttons and gem are from my stash.

Challenges I'm  joining:
Jackson Digital Challenge # 18 - Anything goes with optional colour
Sweet Sketch Wednesday # 167 - Sketch

A Bug's love

A Die for a Sketch Challenge 3

Hallo

This was started as a bug card, but in the end it ended up a bit different, though with enough imagination you'll find some ladybirds flying around. These are a combination of Penny Black stamps from their Hugs series and are coloured with H2O pencils. I just love these hedgehogs, though I don't use them very often. I have become lazy and are playing with digital images more often. The ladybug paper in the second layer I've found in my decoupage stash. Confession, the first time I've used light blue with black and red, together. The circle diecut is from Nellie Snellen, the sqaure is from Spellbinder and the swirls are from Marianne's design.

Challenges I'm joining this time:
A Die for a Sketch #3 - Sketch
Craft you passion # 123 - Gone Buggy
Penny Black Allsorts August Challenge - Whiskers and or wings ( I belief hedgehogs have whiskers)

 Make my Monday Colour Wheel

Stella says Sketch #117

Good Morning
A bit CAS style for today. I've started off with only yellow and white, then my eye caught the mid-week reminder of Make my Monday's colour challenge and it gave this project some colour. This is digi is called Rubychoc bathe from Bugaboo and I think all women sometimes feel like escaping to a place where you can be alone and indulge in chocolates or something in that matter. I've used clear 3D clear paint on the bubbles and sprinkled it with some clear glitter. The sentiment is one of my very first rubber stamps that I've bought and it says happy birthday in Afrikaans. I used heat embossing on the sentiment.

Challenges I'm joining:
Make my Monday Week 5 - Split Complimentary Colours - Yellow, Fuchsia & Bright green

Thank you and have a nice day!

Fuchsia Tea

 Project

Good Day

After a very warm relaxing weekend we are back home and into our usual routine with another cold front approaching.
I've printed these digis last week, but in the end I did not use them. They are from Sandi's samples. I just love these fuchsia tea set. The designer paper is from Crafter's companion and the plain card stock is from DCWV. I've did some embroidery with metal thread on the corners as well as some embossing, though it is not quite visible. Finished it off with ribbon, twine, gems and pearl bows

My project

 The Sketch from Shelly's Images

Good Day

A male birthday card for a change of scene. I struggled a bit with the blue in the colour scheme, but decided to use it a highlight. I have found the animal print tissues paper in a drawer and decided this will do as background. The left piece I've done some embossing and the green is from DCWV's safari chic and it was a left over piece from a previous project. The geckos is from Inkadinkado and is done with bronze heat embossing. The image is from Shelly Images.

Challenges I'm joining:
Shelly Images - Sketch
The Outlawz - colour challenge with the twist of pearls

Clear it out - Make it manly using 2 patterned papers

Live it, Rock It!

Good Morning

From a freezing South Africa!! This morning we woke with the sound of raindrop on our roof. Something so unusual for this time of the year. Not that I will ever complain about the rain. Here, we need every single drop.
The 9th of August we celebrate National Woman's day, here in South Africa. Digistamp4joy wants to celebrate it too, with their challenge of a portrait of a woman in any form. I've used Jenlee's bellydancer for this project and you can visit the store over at Digistamp4Joy for more exciting digis. It is kind of CAS but I just love the coral feather that I've added, with some gems. The sentiment I've taken from Facebook.

Challenges I'm joining:
Digistamp4Joy #48 - Portrait of a woman.
Tammy's Scrappin Corner #22 - Show us your bling (2nd entry)
Craft your Passion #122 - Anything goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything goes with option of felt (which I did not incorporated - sorry)

Thank you and I hope you are warm, wherever you are!
