"Hello Dolly"

Good day

Autumn is here in all its splendor. I have to admit that I am not fond of getting cold, but I can operate better in cooler conditions than scourging heat. Once again this is one of those projects that looked different in my head when I started than what it ended in. The designer paper is called Afri- Frans from Creative Talents. (Directly translated Afrikaans French) I bought this beautiful emboss folder this morning and could not resist playing with it. Digi is from Digistamp4Joy and is this month's progressive digi on their Facebook page. The rest came from my stash.

Signs of spring

Good day

It is a few days before Easter and everybody is super excited. Here too, but for different reasons. Except for religious reasons we are expecting our first real cold weather and this means we are well into autumn, my favourite time of year. Playing with spring colours makes it a challenge, though I love this image of Createful Heart digis called Hummingbird n morning glory flowers. It is the digi for this month's progressive challenge at The Outlawz. I used paper from Spring Drop by First Edition. The first time I used my butterfly border from Marianne's design.

Challenges I took my inspiration from:
Crafty Cardmakers #186 - Things with Wings
Digi Choosday WK15 - Anything goes
The Outlawz Colour challenge 11 April
The Outlawz Progressive challenge - April

The paper is from my stash and the 3 paws are buttons that I have cut the loops off.

Hoot of a birthday

Good day

Spring just bring a new bounce in your step and vibrant colours does more or less the same for me. This lovely inspirational photo from The Outlawz tantalized my senses to play and with more inspiration from few other blogs I ended up with this project of mine. I used 2 images from Bugaboo and a third's sentiment. (BUGBird01, Hoot hoot hooray and BIRDGR bday hoot sent - all from Bugaboo) I have to admit I prefer PNG files before JPEG files since you can play around with PNG files and combine them much easier. I just had to extend the little branch from the big bird to the small one. The papers is from my stash and it was the closest I could find with stripes on it.

Challenges I'm joining:
Creative Knockouts #186 - Spring is on the way
Double D challenge - Things that fly
Tuesday Morning Sketches #395
Catch the Bug - March Bingo - Gems, 2 images merged, stripes

Pansy Sprite

Good day

It is a public holiday in South Africa today. Between my normal day chores I played with this beauty. Pansy Sprite from Aurora Wings. I only got it 2 days before the challenge closed and could not make it in time, but it is never too late to play with any cutie. The papers are from First Edition's Hide Away stack. Unfortunately I only had coloured doilies, but the yellow is in the colour scheme. To fit the sketch I cut it in the middle and glued it together in a rectangular.

Silver anniversary

Good day

Today I'll share my favourite A Day For Daisies image for the last time on their challenge block. It was quite difficult to choose one image from the few I have from Tammy. Somehow Tammy gave her images just a bit of dreamy look. I opted for vintage rose and coloured it in very subtle shades of blue and white to fit the colour challenge. The designer paper is from Colorblok Fashionista pattern pack. Dies I used were Spellbinder Octagon stripes and accents, A2 modern stationary and the Heart is from Nellie Snellen. I used 2 different card stock in silver, the one is from The Twinkle Glints from DCWV and the other is from my stash.

The winds are blowing

Good day!

From a wet rainy day in South Africa. We are so thankful for the rain, especially after the drought where most of our dams were empty. I used the time well and made some cards. This one is with The Paper Shelter's Rose Ink digi. With spring on its way in the Northern hemisphere the winds will start blowing soon and the inspirational photo from the Outlawz' colour challenge wants to give me some hint of light that is accompany with spring. The image was coloured with Aquarelles and the designer paper is from Bo Bunny's Serenade collection. I used a Cuttle bug emboss folder on the left and the rest is from my stash. Unfortunately I only had black leather to add to the earthiness of the card.

Par l'armour

Good day

I had a lot of inspiration this past week. So wish it can last forever and that I can have forever time to make it happen. I had some sad news this week. A day for daisies's challenge blog is going on an indefinite hiatus at the end of February, although their shop will still be open. I did enjoy their inspiration and their digis. But that is part of life. So for the last time I'll join them, although I'll still be using there digis definitely in future. This digi is Hepbern dress from ADFD. My papers are from True romance from Kaiser craft and Weathered Aspect from DCWV. I've printed the image in a gray tone to give it a faded look. I took inspiration from Tuesday Throwdown's challenge of "love note" from there the heart with music paperclip.

Challenges I'm joining:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday2 - #106
Tuesday Trowdown #328 - Love Notes

Lavender and Lace

Good day

This is one of those challenging cards for some of us and for others, like my SIL, whom is my muse when it come to clean and simple, it looks like a breeze. I could not resist when I saw the lavender and lace challenge. I have a few birthdays at my bible study in February and this looked just like it. I used a Cuttlebug blooming bouquet emboss and cut stencil. Somehow it is such a focal point that it really does not need anything more. I used some lace peel-offs for the lace on the side and the flowers were made of voile ribbon.

Challenges I used as inspiration:
Crafting by Design February Anything goes
Double D - Lavender and Lace
Crafty Sentiment - Ribbon &/ Lace
Crafty Creations #334 - Anything goes
