New challenge at Creative Moments

Good day

It is time for the last challenge for the year at Creative Moments. Since we are in the spirit of Christmas or winter, you can use that inspiration for our challenge. Beccy from Beccy's place is our sponsor and I have the privilege to play with Emu parade. It just suited our Southern Hemisphere kind of Christmas in the middle of our summer holidays. I also use her December challenge board to create my card. I used the middle row left to right - Colour with pencils, digital image, add some sparkle. I used some ribbon with sparkle and some shimmer board behind my image for the sparkle and I have coloured the image with my Prism Pencils. Papers from my stash and the sentiment is part of the package.

Challenges I'm joining:
Beccy's Place - December
Cheerful Sketches - December sketch
Incy Wincy - Christmas
Morgan's Art world - Anything goes

Hope you will come and join us at Creative Moments!

December Sketches at SSW 2

Good day

Kathie have created 2 new sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. I just had a fun time creating with them too. For the first one I created a birthday card for a friend of mine who celebrate her birthday on the 28th of December. She just love the soft teal colour. I used a stamp that I have bought in September and a few different dies. Added 2 dragonfly diecuts with some pearls as finishing touch.

Challenges I'm joining:
Crafter's cafe - Use dies and or punches
Crafty Calendar - Anything goes

Image from Sheepski Design called Garden Party

For the second one I took especially inspiration from the mood board of Colourful options, since white on white is just one of my all time favourite challenges, though today I played with white on white with a dash of colour. Since purple is my colour choice for this Christmas I used it on the gnomes' hats - image from Sheepski design called garden party. I'm a bit disappointed since the clear emboss pen did not change colour with the heat embossing on the brim of the hats. I think I used a different emboss powder in the past. I added some pearl accent on the beards. For the holly leaves, in the corner, I used a Fiskar emboss corner template. Added an Afrikaans peel-off sticker for the sentiment and some pearls.

Challenges I'm joining:
2 Sisters on the blog #69 - Christmas with holly leaves
Allsorts #705 - Christmas
Colourful options - Inspiration board
Creative Knockouts #481 - Winter wonderland
Sheepski design challenge #69 - This is the season

Hope you will come and join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Winter challenge in mid of summer

 Good day

We are finally reaching the end of the long road of selling our house! In a sense I am excited, but also sad since it is an end of an era. A lot of memories! But now new horizons beckons.

In the Northern Hemisphere it is summer and there are a new challenge at Creative Moments with the twist of Winter. So we want to see some cosy projects which reflects winter. Polkadoodles are our sponsor this month! I used Retire and Snooze Gnome. It fits our time of year, here in the southern part of Africa! Most people are preparing for a lovely summer holiday, time to relax and do things what you normally can't do, like taking a nap. I played with paper from Beyond the sea from P13. Coloured the image with Prisma pencils and distress the background with some chalk. Used some twine from my recycled stash. I used a sketch from the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge.

Challenges I'm joining:
Polkadoodles Wk46 - Anything goes
Let's Craft and create - Anything goes with twist of using a sketch
Crafter's Cafe # 291 - Use dies / punches
Colour Crazy Craft Wk45 - Anything goes

Hope you will come and join us at Creative Moments!

Christmas 2022

Good day

Many years ago when we still stayed in France I used to choose a colour or theme for Christmas (often non-traditional colours) and then I will do all the cards and decorations accordingly. I do get bored quickly with the same colours, so by choosing non - traditional colours and theme makes life interesting and also since I'm from the Southern Hemisphere and we are in the middle of summer holidays the traditional stuff does not always fit in.  Then we moved back to South Africa and the first few years I did the same, but then we started to take summer holidays over the festive season and I stopped doing it. Well this year we are forced to stay home due to work and I decided to bring back the old custom, with the difference I have asked my eldest and his friend to choose the colour combo. So they decided on purple, white and silver. Surely a lovely combo if you look around on the internet. With my first session of Christmas cards for this year I made 2 and are super excited on how it came out.

For the first one I used a stencil with Versa Magic's purple hydrangea and peel-off stickers for the sentiment. I made an aperture card with some dies of Nellie Snellen's slimline range. I would say quick and easy, but the measurements for the aperture did take some time.

Challenges I'm joining is:
Stick it down - November Card sketch
As you like it challenge - Non - traditional Christmas colours
Creative Knockouts - #478 Christmas

For my second card I played with some glitter cardstock and a tree die cut with some peel - off stickers and sticker sentiment. I must confess that some of these peel-off sticker's glue has evaporated, so old are these.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Allsorts #701 - Sparkle and shine
The Paper Shelter #533 - Add some bling
Moving along with time - Bright on dark

Hope you have a lovely creative day!

New Sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Good day

It is time for new sketches at the beginning of the month at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2, we have an optional twist of vintage of birthdays. Challenges I'm joining:
2 Sisters on the Blog #68 - Stitching real or faux
A perfect time to Craft #11 - 2022 Anything goes

For the second sketch I used  Pattie's creations image of a box of chocolates. The sentiment is one of my latest editions from Woodware Craft collection. I used Dew Drop Crimson Copper and heat embossed it with frosted crystal. Papers are from Mintay's Country fair and Fall Festival, since it fit the theme of vintage.
Image was coloured with Prisma pencils and I added some vintage rose coloured rhinestones.

Sheepski Design #68 - Gem, glitter, sparkle

Something different

Good day

Today I want to share something totally different from my usual style! I bought these stencil on my last shopping spree. It is 3 different sizes, but in the end it gives you this lovely dimension. I played with some of my new Versa magic inks, galaxy gold, cosmic copper and pumpkin spice. Then I added a die sentiment and rhinestones in the fresh green from colour hues to finish it up. I used the sketch of Stick it down and I'm joining in the autumn colours of the Sisterhood of Crafters. This is such a versatile colour combo whether you are in spring or autumn and I thought the sentiment of "Believe" will carry on in the inside with..... in the awe of Christmas, or age is only but a number.......

Have a lovely day!

Hugs from Africa!
