New arrival

Good Morning

I have a list of chores to do....and I then ended up in my craft room. There are such a lot of challenges that makes my head working overtime, that I do not really know where to start. In the end the Play date café's colour challenge just got the final vote. It is round 17 at the Crafter's Digital Art centre and they have the theme of "You've got the cutest little baby face". This digi is from designed2delight and is called baby buggy. Have to admit that baby cards are currently not my favourite, since my babies are almost teenagers and I do not know a lot of mom's to be. The buttons on the Play date café's inspiration picture, did inspire me to use these buttons that I have found between my bead stash. I've used some rose emboss powder on my sentiment in Afrikaans saying: Congratulations. I also found these cute teddy bears in my stash that I added on my tag.

Challenges I'm joining:
CDAC round 17 - cdacpc17,d2d
The Outlawz - Wednesday sketch -  SC050212
C.R.A.F.T Challenge #153 - Buttons
Play Date Café PDCC#130 - Colour challenge
Freshly Brewed FBC 94 - Tic Tac Toe - Die cuts, ribbon, buttons
Always Crafting Creative Mondays # 7 - Anything goes
Robyn Fetish #105 - Cards for a new baby

Thank you and have a splendid day!

Purrfect

My project, taken in bad light, unfortunately.

The colour combo I've used for my project.

Good Day
This morning we still had some lovely autumn weather an I was still looking at al the beautiful colours of the leaves that fall. This afternoon it closed up and we had a few drops of rain and so the temperature dropped and there is a chill in the air. It is not normal, for us, to have such a quick change in weather, otherwise I would have taken the picture this morning.
The digital image from the cat with the butterfly on the left is from Just some Lines, one of this round's digis at the Crafter's digital Art Centre and the butterfly on the right is the freebie this week at Bugaboo stamps and the sentiment is one of Desert Diva's freebies. The glitter effect designer paper is from First Edition's spring drop, the embossed orange is from Trend Line, Kars and the rest from my stash. Something to brighten up my day.
Challenges I'm joining
JUGS #133 - Hot Pink, Lime Green, Orange
CDAC progressive challenge round 16 - cdacpc16 JSL
Catch the bug Sketch Challenge 21/04 - Sketch
Di' digi design challenge - Let's meet our animals.
Tammy's Scrappin corner #7 - Anything goes with the twist of critters

Hope you have a wonderful evening.

You are precious

Good Day

It is a new round at the Crafter's digital art centre and as usual they have some top designer's digis available with which you have to submit your project. This time I've used two digis - the young girl with the bird is from Whoopsie Daisy Digis(cdacpc16 "WD") and the bird cage is from Nana Vic (cdacpc16 "NV"). I have to admit that the versatility of digital images is just wonderful, since I had to turn the girl around to make the scene of the card and then the song of Annie Lennox - Little Bird, came up in my mind - "Little bird don't fly away, You're everything I need to be.....".
All papers and embellishments are from my stash and I used Fluer de Lis Rectangles and Perfect Petals, Heartfelt creations from Spellbinders for the borders - Tuesday Trio #115 has a sketch with the request of making/designing your own frame. The sentiment is from Desert Diva. I also have to admit that my colour combo choice is not quite a choice for shabby chic, though the image wants something in that direction.
Challenges I'm joining:
Crafter's digital art centre - Round 16 - Something in the air.
Party Time Tuesday ptt#64 - colour combo - New grass, Black, Amaranth, French Rose
Tuesday Trio #115 - Sketch with your own frame
Crafty Sentiment - Use a digi - I've used two
Deep Ocean Challenge #23 - Inspired by a Song - Annie Lennox - Little Bird
Art with no Boundaries #6  - Anything goes
Shelly's images TTT 19/4 - Show us what you've got

Thank you and have a splendid weekend.

Beary Angel

Good Day!

Another mother's day card, this time with a bugaboo digi called a cloud sitter, but with the sentiment from Desert Diva, I've decided it will just do for a nice mother's day card. It is the next round at the Crafter's Digital Art Centre with the theme of It's all about bears and they have some beautiful bear digis this round. I've used some perfect pearl dust on the wings and some yellow glitter on the hallow and stars and the daisy paper is also bit bling but it is not quite visible on the photo. The striped paper is from New Leaf and the avocado colour is from DCWV. All the other stuff is from my stash.

Challenge I'm joining and have been guided by:

CDAC round 15 - cdacpc15, bug

Play Date Cafe #PDC126 - Colour combo - Avocado, Blue Mist, Grey Wool

Mr Bunny brings spring

Good Morning

Cloudy and cool this morning.....definitely signs of seasons changing. Thought I'll share some brightness this morning.
I have to admit I struggled a bit with this card. Mainly because I wanted to use a different border punch for a change, but it didn't want to work out the way I wanted. In the end, I turned to my favourite Sunburst Fiskar border punch and then I broke it. I was so frustrated with myself. My dearest engineer hubby came up with a solution and I could finish my project. I used the border punch on both sides of the strip of paper and this is the end result....an effect of daisies. It added to the spring feeling of the card. I have used 2 digis from Round 14's digis from the Crafter's Digital Art centre progressive challenge. They have the theme of easter/spring, this round. The basket is from Shelly's Images (cdacpc14, SI) and the cute Mr Bunny is from Spectacular Printables (cdacpc14, SP). Two of the five beautiful digi's available this round. Crafty Calender has the challenge of spring cleaning, so I used a lot of my bits and pieces and used my flower punches and circle border punch, that I have not used in ages. The cardstock is from My mind's eye and all the rest from my stash.

Other challenges I'm joining.....some of them the first time.
The Play Date Cafe PDCC123 - Teal, Jeans, Electric Green and Tangerine.
GingerSnap Creations GC142 - Border punches
CDAC round 14 - Spring/ Easter
The Outlawz 14 March Wednesday SC031412 - Sketch
Divas by design 26 - Citrus colours

Thank you have a wonderful week. I'm gonna be occupied with some beautiful people from France.

Spring Birthday

Good Afternoon

The Crafter's digital art centre has a new round of digi's. This time everybody can come and play for free. The only request is that you agree to make at least one project with the 5 digis provided by well known designers, with the theme of spring. By making a project with any of these digis, you automatically qualify for the next round digis. There are 6 rounds and at the end of the 6th round there is a very big prize to be won. So go over and have a quick peek, since this round ends 14 March.

I have used two digis, the lady is from Back to Paper(cdacpc13, BackToPaper) and the flower is from Glitterbabe(cdacpc13, GB). The backing paper is from Serif - Picnic in the park and my stash. I was inspired by The colorlab's So Saffron, Lucky Limeade and your choice, mine is a pinch of red. The sentiment is in Afrikaans "Veels geluk" and it means congratulations and we use it also as a birthday wish.

Other Challenges I'm joining:
Crafter's Digital Art Centre round 13, spring is coming
The Outlawz - Wednesday sketch SC030712
Birthday Sundaes #47 - Use Green

Thank you

Toadily Happy Birthday

Good Morning

As I have mentioned in one of my previous post, there are some beautiful digis in round 12 of the Crafter's digital art centre progressive challenge. This one is from Fred she Said. Mom of only boys and frogs being part of my history, though I do not like the real stuff whatsoever. We stayed in France for a while (in the frogleg production area) and the French are known for eating froglegs, from there my love for frogs. I just had to use this digi. I have finally decided to use the Trio Tuesday sketch 106 and the colour combo of The Craft Pad - Red, Blue & green. All papers is from my scrapbook stash and I had this frog button for quite a while now and it is from Dress it up and it is called boyz rule. The sentiment is from Penny Black.
Challenges I'm joining:
The Craft Pad #158 - Red, Blue, Green
CDAC round 12 - cdacpc12, fss
Aud Sentiment #48 - Happy
Craft Catz #120 - Favourite thing - Green, Boys and frogs
Glitter Geeks week 7 - Boys & Girls
Tuesday Trio #106 - Sketch

Thank you for your visit!

Hang in there

Hallo

This digi and sentiment is from Happileigh Scrappin, also one of round 12 digis from Crafter's Digital Art Centre. Since we stayed in France for a few years and they are known to eat froglegs I have a very soft spot for frogs. Not that I do like the real stuff, but all other forms of frogs gives me a awh feeling. This morning when I opened my blog I saw CAS-friday's new challenge for ribbons, I just had to create this card. Thought I'll stay with this hanging feeling. Cardstock is brazzille paper and ribbon is from my stash.
Challenges I'm joining:
CAS-Fridays # CFC40 - Tie one on
CDAC round 12 - cdacpc12, HSD
The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop Februarie # 7 - Anything goes

Above is the colour bingo challenge #94 over at Craft your passion. My choice is purple, orange and red. At first I thought it a rude colour combo, but I have to admit that my papers fell in the right combo.

My teepee card with "Mexer balance diet" digi from Bugaboo Digi Stamps for the Crafter's Digital Art Centre's challenge round 10.(cdacpc10, bug) The sentiment is computer generated and says "All I need is lots of love and a chocolate a day to keep the doctor away". Though the theme for this round is "Bringing in the new year" I thought everybody needs love everyday and something sweet to brighten up your day, whether it is something like a piece of chocolate or just a small gest like a smile or a hug. Below is a view on what the other sides looks like. I've used a small magnet to keep the card close.

The designer paper is from Toga and Papercraft magazine. Purple cardstock from my stash. I saw the tutorial on how to make a teepee card on Shelly's image blog. I'm also joining in the fun of a Designer's choice for a Terrifically Thrilling Thursday at Shelly's image where anything goes.

Thank you for your visit and have a nice day!

Puppy love

Good day

Wishing you all a year full of creativity, love and peace of mind and heart. After a few weeks of summer holidays I'm back, hopefully with few new ideas, a lot of energy and a bit more of myself than needed. Hopefully that will disappear soon, with a bit of work.
We had such a lovely surprise before christmas. There were some french people visiting Hubby's work and another collegue sended us some nice french gifts via them. It was such a delightful gesture that I just had to make them this Thank You card.

Now for my post. This is a digi from Pattie's Creations, one of round 9's digis over at the Crafter's digital Art Centre, with the theme of making it your own. We have received it before Christmas, but due to all the holidays the deadline was postponed to the 14th of January. I have to admit, I 'm glad since I had time off to play with the image in my head and I just love dogs and this puppy face.
The orange paper is from my stash and the rest is from W&M, which I also bought, just before christmas. I've used chalk ink for the orange distressing. The sentiment is done with my cuttlebug, one I bought just before christmas - you know that "for - mom - from - mom - gifts". The rhinestones, button and ribbon is from my stash.
The colour scheme choice was guide by Use it Tuesday's challenge of the colours of your favourite sports team - for me it is the Cheetah rugby team in central South Africa, with colours of jade, purple and mainly orange or white.

The challenges I'm joining in:
CDAC round 9 - cdacpc9, PC
Charisma Cardz #50 Team Gem - Anything goes
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 134
Use it Tuesday #22 - Yay team - colours of your favourite sport team
Glitter Geeks #30 - Brand spanking new bragging with your new stash

Thank you and have a splendid day!

Bless the beast

Good Morning

This is propable my last post before we leave for a bit of holiday! Seeing forward to it. So I cleaned my desktop, but before I start my preparations, I would like to share this card with you. This is Bakster Helps from Just Some Lines, one of round 8 of the Crafter's digital art centre's digis with the theme of Animals holds our hearts. The image I've coloured with aquarrelles, added some heat embossing on the nose and teeth to give it a wetlook. Distressed with terracotta pigment inks. I've used paper from the Pet stack paper set, from DCWV, with glitter and gloss. The sentiment tag, I've found in my scrapbook stash. The bone embellishment and the row of bones, covered in glitter, on the background, is also from the Pet stack that I have cut out. With my fiskar handpunch I've punched some bones, which I added on to the scallops. Ended off with some brads on the corners and a heart button.

This will most definitely do for a male or a boy birthday and I would like to invite you all for a DT call over at Lexi creations and we welcome the new blog challenge: Chocolate, coffee & cards, wishing them all the best for their future.

JUGS #113 - Sketch

Natural Goodness or Excotic Richness

Good Afternoon

Today I want to share the box I made for my mother -in - law's christmas gift. I love giving handmade gifts, so I made her a mini album. Now for the box, I used cardstock in a pale grey for both the base and lid. The lid, I decorated a bit with goodies from my stash, using a Martha Steward border punch and some red lace for the sides. The top, I used a sketch from the Sketch file and the sentiment is my own, since apples are available to everybody to eat and crab and crayfish is a bit of excotic, only available to the rich, so whatever your appetite maybe. The digis is a crab from Tiffany Doodles and the apple, with which I made the border, is from Heartsong Designs. They are part of the Crafter's Digital Art Centre's 7th round in the Progressive Freebie Challenge that goes on till Februarie 2012. So, join the group and join the fun. This time, for the next 2 weeks, the theme is what's cooking.

I'm joining in the fun with the following challenges:

CDAC progressive challenge round 7(cdacpc7), tiffanydoodles, Heartsong

Kathy's Waffle Sketch File , November 2011 - Sketch

Bags of fun

Good Monday Morning
This is one of those cards that I have been working on the whole weekend. I've been kind of busy with all kinds of things last week and finally I had time to craft I had a lack of mojo. So, I've only finished it off this morning. Though I used a lot of challenges as guide, I'm too late, but I still wanted to share it with you.
This is one of the CDAC's 6th round digi called 3shop till she drop" provided by Inked Treasures. I've used it for a birthday card for a young 6year old lady. It is much part of this time of year where most people prepare for christmas. I've used my marianne's design templates for the swirl and flower, added brads as the centre for the flowers and used a tag for the sentiment peel-off. The emboss border is made with my cuttlebug emboss template. All the papers is from my stash and for a change I used a scrapbookpaper with flocking on as base.
The challenges I'm entering:
Crafter's Digital Art Centre, round 6 - cdacpc6, inkedtreasures
Stamp with fun #136 - sketch
Crafty Catz #108 - Use a digi
Paper Crafting Journey #23 - embossing
CCEE #1145 - 3 different shapes - Square, rectangular, round(flowers)

Thank you

Non traditional christmas

Hallo

Today I've tried something different. Not so much the image, from daisy doodles, but more the colour scheme. Purple and orange. This morning I was scrabbling through my stash for papers for my son's birthday invitations and my I caught this purple backpaper with the christmas design. Then I remembered Use it Tuesday's challenge for purple, orange and black - all or any choice. The image is one of the digis from Crafters Digital Art Centre's 6th round progressive challenge, with theme of winter wonderland. A.F. Wells once said "Take Christ out of Christmas and December becomes the most dismal and drab time of the year." From there my choice of a star brad used with some lilac ribbon. Brazzille cardstock from my stash and I've used a spellbinder diecut and the digi was coloured with aquarelles.

I was guided by the following challenges:

CDAC progressive challenge round 6 - cdacpc6, daisydoodles

Use it Tuesday #18 - Colors Orange, purple

Crimbo Crackers #1 - Anything goes for christmas

Meljen's design #83 - Use a brad or more

Thank you

This is my second card for the 5th round at Crafter's Digital Art Centre's Progressive challenges with digis provided. This round has the theme of festive in cool colours. So, the ladies at Glitter Geeks have a recipe to follow this week and kick started this card.

Had this ribbon for ages now and it blended well with the colours. The swirls are from marianne's designs and cuttlebug and the gems is from my stash.

Dreaming of a White Christmas....

Just a quick hallo
I've been creative with other mediums lately, so my mojo for paper were a bit low. It is time for round 5 at CDAC with free digis provided. So my digi is the one from Just some lines, an angel teddy dreaming. Since we do not have white christmas in South Africa, I thought I'll be dreaming of those we had in France, from there my sentiment. I've used my Cuttlebug snowflake emboss folders for the background and for the border. The metal snowflakes brads are from my stash as well as the brazzille papers. The ribbon, I've done a while ago for another card, but never used it. I've used a snowflake eyelet with it.
Today I'm entering my first challenge in a unknown language but could not resist when I saw Dianescarlett from Scrap Affair, whom design for Paint your world, with the theme of angels or demons, where I got my mojo from for today's post. Thank you Dianescarlett.

Challenges I'm entering:

Crafter's Digital Art Centre, cdacpc5, JSL - Round 5 with theme of festive and cool colour code
Aud Sentiment #39 - Winter theme
Gem of a Challenge #32 - Sketch
Paint your world #3 - Angel and demons
Charisma Cardz#42 - Embossing

A Boo!-tiful Birthday

Good Morning on this chilly sunny morning.

As I saw the new challenges for the next week, my eye caught the colour combo of orange and black. Since orange is one of my favourite colours, in all its shades and I have this adorable digi, Bailey in witch hat from Sew Many Digital Cards - one of the digis for the 4th round at CDAC Progressive Challenge, with the theme of halloween/mystical. I had this urge to create a card. Though, as mentioned before, in South Africa we do not celebrate halloween, I used it to make a birthday card. All the papers and ribbons are bits and pieces from my stash. Found this lost silver button in my drawer of buttons and added it with a silver thread. The sentiment is digital porduced. The diecuts is one from Nellie Snellen.
I'm joining in the fun in the following challenge, with some very interesting prizes:
CDAC progressive challenge, cdacpc4 smc - round 4, halloween/mystical

Sunflower time

Hallo
This is my third project for the Crafter's Digital Art Centre Progressive challenge, part 3, with the theme of autumn. The image is from Just Inklined, provided by CDAC. I've coloured it with aquarelles and used some perfect pearl on the wings of the butterfly. I also did some 3D with the butterfly, to give some dimension to the card. I've used some brazzille card stock and some glitter daisy paper and added some peel-off corners.
I am also entering:
A Gem of a Challenge #30 - Sketch
Craft Catz #101 - Autumn
CDAC cdacpc3 - digital image

For everybody in the northern hemisphere, I wish you a colourful autumn and I'm sending you all a bunch of sunfilled sunflowers to cherish throughout the cold dull winter months.
