Let's Dance

Good Day!

Today is a day with a lot of history in our family. Personally, my blog is two years old, thanks to Shelly from Minkie's paper paradise, whom inspired me through a magazine. Furthermore, 8 years ago we left for our adventurous stay in France.
This card is for a young lady whom was born 8 years ago, to our neighbours then. The digi is from Di's Digital stamp boutique and is called let's dance. I found music and dance a universal theme for any age. I've used a cuttlebug music emboss template on the vellum. I've used papers and ribbons from my stash.
Challenges I'm joining in the fun:
The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge 28/3/2012 -SC032812 Sketch
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour challenge 27/3/2012 - CC032712 Blue, Pink, White
Papercrafting Journey #6 - Photo inspiration
Robyn Fetish #100 - Kids Card
Crafty Catz Challenge #126 - Use a digital image

I'm off to my very first live international T20 cricket game.

Thank you for your visit

Born to be Wild

A close - up on the weathered tegnique.

Good Morning

The seasons are changing. Slowly the sun peeks out later and go to sleep earlier and the leaves are falling and there is a new chill in the mornings. A promise of winter on its way.

Today's card is another boy birthday card. The image is a freebie from Beccy's Space called little hobo. In a sense it reminds me of my boys. At a certain age it really feels as if they are hobos, for the clothes are always dirty and it seems as if you are always on the repair of clothes, patches all over and one day or another, they want to leave the house to find another that is less strict.

With the Ribbon real's challenge of weathered look with White, Blue, craft and a hince of red, natural twine/twill, this card got his life. It just fitted the hobo image. I used sandpaper on the edges to give it the weathered look with distressing done with chalk - brown, blue and red. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. All goodies is from my stash.

Challenges I'm joining:

Cupcake Craft Challenge #181 - Boys and their toys

Creative Craft Challenge 28/2 - Boys will be boys

Divas by Design #24 - Spots and/or stripes

Thank you for your visit and have a splendid week-end.

African Christmas

Hallo Everybody
Happy Thanksgiving to all my blogland friends! Thank you, to all who inspired me this past year and who has to think so hard for all the creative ideas for the challenge blogs. May you have a blessed festive time.
I've made a card with this same digi from Sliekje and in the end my boys forced me to make another, since they just adored this cutie. Unfortunately, I don't have the same papers and embelishments, anymore. Good for me, since I'm not fond of doing the exact same thing too many times. The sentiment and backing paper is from the Crafts magazine's gift pack. All the rest is from my stash.
Challenges I'm entering:
Kathy's Waffle Sketch File - November Sketch
Just us Girls # 111 - Colour Challenge, Red, White & Green
Paper Crafting Journey 24/11 - Anything goes

Thank you

Bags of fun

Good Monday Morning
This is one of those cards that I have been working on the whole weekend. I've been kind of busy with all kinds of things last week and finally I had time to craft I had a lack of mojo. So, I've only finished it off this morning. Though I used a lot of challenges as guide, I'm too late, but I still wanted to share it with you.
This is one of the CDAC's 6th round digi called 3shop till she drop" provided by Inked Treasures. I've used it for a birthday card for a young 6year old lady. It is much part of this time of year where most people prepare for christmas. I've used my marianne's design templates for the swirl and flower, added brads as the centre for the flowers and used a tag for the sentiment peel-off. The emboss border is made with my cuttlebug emboss template. All the papers is from my stash and for a change I used a scrapbookpaper with flocking on as base.
The challenges I'm entering:
Crafter's Digital Art Centre, round 6 - cdacpc6, inkedtreasures
Stamp with fun #136 - sketch
Crafty Catz #108 - Use a digi
Paper Crafting Journey #23 - embossing
CCEE #1145 - 3 different shapes - Square, rectangular, round(flowers)

Thank you

Peekaboo!

Top: My card outside

Bottom: My card inside

Hallo

This is a kitty digi from lovely Annie from Digi my World. I've had this idea quite a while now, so finally I've put it to paper.

The cardstock is double coloured, brown and bronze, and from my stash. So used the bronze colour for the outside. This sentiment, computer produced, says "Peeking in to say..." is in Afrikaans. Since the theme is fall at Digi my World #5, I've done a lot of distressing in different colours, since fall can be a bit distressing in the changing of weather, and used my fiskar leave border punch. At first I hought I'll use some perfect pearl accent on the leave brads, but in the end decided it compliments the eyes of kitty, as it is. I used, once again, the sketch at CAS-ual Fridays CFC26 and I'm also entering PaperCrafting journey's #22 challenge: to use a Digi.

Thank you for your visit.

A Boo!-tiful Birthday

Good Morning on this chilly sunny morning.

As I saw the new challenges for the next week, my eye caught the colour combo of orange and black. Since orange is one of my favourite colours, in all its shades and I have this adorable digi, Bailey in witch hat from Sew Many Digital Cards - one of the digis for the 4th round at CDAC Progressive Challenge, with the theme of halloween/mystical. I had this urge to create a card. Though, as mentioned before, in South Africa we do not celebrate halloween, I used it to make a birthday card. All the papers and ribbons are bits and pieces from my stash. Found this lost silver button in my drawer of buttons and added it with a silver thread. The sentiment is digital porduced. The diecuts is one from Nellie Snellen.
I'm joining in the fun in the following challenge, with some very interesting prizes:
CDAC progressive challenge, cdacpc4 smc - round 4, halloween/mystical
Paper Pretties PWC174 - Sketch
CCEE Stampers CCEE1140 - Favourite colour combo with a half a circle
Charisma Cardz #40 - Black and orange
Divas by design #12 - Button up
Raise the bar # 77 - Hats off
PaperCrafting journey # 20 - Diecuts or punches

Time for Tea

Good Morning
It is a lovely spring Monday down here, with sunshine, although still a bit of chill in the air for the moment, but the temperature will rise definitely.

The ladies at Top Tip Tuesday tried to define "Shabby Chic" this week. Finally I came to the conclusion that it is an old time romantic feeling. This is where my card started to get form. Though I did not use a lot of broken white, I could not resist this faded olive green paper from TOGA, which I matched with a faded pink, lace and pearls. The diecuts(circle, flowers and stem) is creatables from Marianne's design and the corners from Cuttlebug. The digi is from Digi my World and the sentiment from Bird's cards. I've coloured the image with aquarelles and distressed it with chalk.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday #49 - What is Shabby Chic?

Digi my World #1 - Anything goes

Craft your Passion # 74 - Anything goes if a flower is added

Crafty Creations #134 - Use at least 3 diecuts or punches

Charizma Cardz # 35 - Anything goes

Wish you all a piece of sunshine today!

Thank you for your visit.

Going on a safari....

Hallo on this quiet Sunday afternoon in South Africa

I have found this freebie over at Kenny K and I could not resist. Giraffes are such gracious animals. The ladies at Midnight Madness sketch 112 also have an irresistible sketch and prizes. So I have used Safari Chic paper in the background and on a sale, sometime ago in France, I have found this faux leather piece as well as the textured paper that almost looks like tree-bark. The guinea fowl feather and porcupine quill is from my stash and I added Edwin Zookeeper from Magnolia, the images I've coloured with aquarelles and the diecut is from Marianne's design.
So I am going to try my luck on the following challenges, since I feel a bit reckless today and all the DT cards is such an inspiration for me:
Midnight Madness Sketch 112 - Sketch 112
Crafty Creations Challenge 127 - Boyz to men
Paper Crafting Journey Nr 14 - For him
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Your Favourite of the last 150 Challenges - nr 13 Inspiration from Home - I have interpret home as South Africa, whom is known for its game reserves and I could not resist to enter a second time this week.
Fairy Fun Fridays 57 - On holidays - The bush is definitely my favourite place to go on holiday.
A Gem Challenge blog 25 - Let's hear it for the boys
Use it Tuesday 11 use011 - You are an animal
Sweet Stampin - One for the boys

Thank you and wishing you a splendid week full of inspiration.
