Opposites atrack

A quick hello again!

While we had some power failures this morning I created this card. I was tickled by CAS-friday's Opposites attrack challenge CFC48 and immidiately thought about yellow and purple. Yesterday when I looked for the crochet flower for my previous project I bought these 3 as well, since I had a peek on 365 Cards day 47 's sketch and this morning opening blogger I saw Crafty Creation's challenge #166 for yellow and one colour of your choice. The sentiment is a rubberstamp saying get well soon in Afrikaans. I used brads and yellow confetti flowers for the inside of the crochet flowers. I used a big spellbinder for the shape of the card.

Thank you and have a beautiful day!

House + Love = Home

Good Day

It is time for the next round at the Crafter's Digital Art Centre with a theme of "Love will find a way". They have some lovely digis, provided by a group of talented artist. Today I have used two of them on one project. Friends of ours have moved house and I thought it appropriate to give them a card. I've tried a bit of vintage look with a bling on it. Maybe a bit overdone, since bling is not quite my style. But I have to admit, sometimes to take a proper picture takes a lot more effort than to make the card. The papers I've used is Vintage rose paper pack and Picnic in the park paper stack. I've used old rose chalk ink for my distressing and added some glitter, beads, gems and glitter ribbon with a bit of gelpens on the edges. Sentiment, computer generated read " A house becomes a home when love moves in".

Challenges I was guided by:
CDAC progressive challenge round 11 - Images used: Bailey bear with heart from Sew Many Cards(cdacpc11, smc) and MRO Digi Home from Whimsy and Stars (cdacpc11, Whimsyandstars)
Charisma Cards #4 - Vintage
Crafty Creations #155 - Home Sweet Home
Cute Card Thursday #202 - Buttons and bows
Dutch Dare Cardmakers #150 - Photo inspiration - Lime/menth, peach/pink, buttons, stripes, spring
I did it Creations#92 - Make it sparkle
Midnight Madness # MMSC135 - Sketch

Thank you and have a creative weekend!

As Mad As A Hatter

Good Morning

I had a bit of struggle with today's post. It just didn't want to pop out, but finally I joined everything toghether.

The digis is from the Alice in Wonderland II collection from Digi my World. I just love the cereze cat's grin. Though, I had to do some research since I do not really know the story of Alice in Wonderland. From there my sentiment, (computer generated) since it was a remark by one of the caracters in Alice in wonderland for the caracter The Hatter. I used some heat embossing on the teeth of the cat as well as on the borders, which I mixed with some purple glitter. The lower level paper is a cut off piece from my previous project from W&M and the velvet embroid ribbon is a piece from long ago. It just fitted the scene where it is part of an imaginary world beyond the rainbow of which my brother is very fond off, since he loves reading. This card is special, since it is his first out of my hand after 17 years of absence.

Challenges I'm joining:

Aud Sentiment #45 - Any sentiment with using scraps

Charisma Cardz # 52 - Over the rainbow

Crafty Creations #151 - Heat it up with heat embossing

Digi my World #1 - Light up my life

Thank you

Autumn Fairiy

Good Afternoon on this windy Monday.

I had a weekend without internet, but tried to play around a bit. So with some deadlines I might be a second or two too late.
Nevertheless, here is my card. Since it is autumn in the northern hemisphere, there are quite a few challenge blocks with the autumn theme. I've used one of the CDAC digis, designed by Gurukitty, provided for the 3rd round of the Progressive Challenge. I've coloured it with aquarelles. The paper is from my stash and I used my Carl leave punch for the leaves, finished it of with some brads.

I'm entering the following challenge blogs:

CDAC Progressive Challenge #3 - Autumn fay Digi

Midnight Madness Sketch #121 MMSC121 - Sketch

Just us Girls # 102 - Colour scheme - Aqua, pumpkin, kiwi

Raise the Bar # 75 - "Leave" Summer

Cute Card Thursday #182 - Anything goes

Hope you have a great day and a blessed week.

Time for Tea

Good Morning
It is a lovely spring Monday down here, with sunshine, although still a bit of chill in the air for the moment, but the temperature will rise definitely.

The ladies at Top Tip Tuesday tried to define "Shabby Chic" this week. Finally I came to the conclusion that it is an old time romantic feeling. This is where my card started to get form. Though I did not use a lot of broken white, I could not resist this faded olive green paper from TOGA, which I matched with a faded pink, lace and pearls. The diecuts(circle, flowers and stem) is creatables from Marianne's design and the corners from Cuttlebug. The digi is from Digi my World and the sentiment from Bird's cards. I've coloured the image with aquarelles and distressed it with chalk.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday #49 - What is Shabby Chic?

Digi my World #1 - Anything goes

Craft your Passion # 74 - Anything goes if a flower is added

Crafty Creations #134 - Use at least 3 diecuts or punches

Charizma Cardz # 35 - Anything goes

Wish you all a piece of sunshine today!

Thank you for your visit.

Santé Papa!

Hallo

Today I played with this image, that I got online and I made this for my Father-in-Law, whom celebrate his birthday soon. I got this ribbon last week at a local store and when the ladies at Crafty Creations's new challenge #131 came out with their quest for a male card with a sketch, I just had to make this card. Charizma Cards Challenge #32 Team Gem's new challenge is distressing. I used violet, and royal blue pigment paint on the white and Terra Cotta on the purple. It almost emphazise the grapes on the ribbon and image. I used gold, for my sentiment stamp with some heat embossing. The papers is from my stash and I added the corner brads, also from my stash. I'll also join the girls at CCEE stampers CCEE1132 with their theme of glass.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

Going on a safari....

Hallo on this quiet Sunday afternoon in South Africa

I have found this freebie over at Kenny K and I could not resist. Giraffes are such gracious animals. The ladies at Midnight Madness sketch 112 also have an irresistible sketch and prizes. So I have used Safari Chic paper in the background and on a sale, sometime ago in France, I have found this faux leather piece as well as the textured paper that almost looks like tree-bark. The guinea fowl feather and porcupine quill is from my stash and I added Edwin Zookeeper from Magnolia, the images I've coloured with aquarelles and the diecut is from Marianne's design.
So I am going to try my luck on the following challenges, since I feel a bit reckless today and all the DT cards is such an inspiration for me:
Midnight Madness Sketch 112 - Sketch 112
Crafty Creations Challenge 127 - Boyz to men
Paper Crafting Journey Nr 14 - For him
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Your Favourite of the last 150 Challenges - nr 13 Inspiration from Home - I have interpret home as South Africa, whom is known for its game reserves and I could not resist to enter a second time this week.
Fairy Fun Fridays 57 - On holidays - The bush is definitely my favourite place to go on holiday.
A Gem Challenge blog 25 - Let's hear it for the boys
Use it Tuesday 11 use011 - You are an animal
Sweet Stampin - One for the boys

Thank you and wishing you a splendid week full of inspiration.
