Sketch time again!

Good day!

It has been almost 4 months since my last post. We finally have moved though we are still in the process of selling our house. So we are still travelling up and down and I spend some days of a week at my old home, but at least I have my craft room in my new home, unpacked and ready to play. Discovered some old stuff and got rid of stuff that I have not used since I bought it ages ago.

With the new sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 it is time to unpack your creativity. We have some fabulous examples from the DT. We have twist too of autumn, thanksgiving and Halloween, is you want to play with something extra.

I played mainly with the autumn colours, since we do not celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving in South Africa and we are at the start of a lovely spring!

For the first sketch I used an image from Pattie's creation and it was coloured sometime ago with my Prismacolor pencils and I added some accent gloss on the vase to look like water. I used papers from my stash with an embossing folder called "Turkish Delight" from Couture Creations for the leaves.

Challenges I'm joining:
Pattie's Creations #198 - Anything goes
Can you handle the pressure - Anything goes with twist of leaves
Stamping sensations - All things Autumn
Sheepski Design #67 - Autumn things

This was also an image, from Bugaboo, that I have printed ages ago and quickly coloured it up. I took the inspiration from the dotted paper in the background for the colours. I always need boy cards, some how.

Challenges I'm joining:
Crafty Catz #608 - Use blue someweher
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Happy Everything

In the process of moving I had a day with my husband in Johannesburg. While he had his meetings I took some time of and spend it in one of my favourite craft shops. There I bought some sentiment stamps. Something I haven't done in ages. So for this project I used one of my new dies and stamps. I used some heat embossing with some glitter on the sentiment. I added a dragonfly and fairy die cut. These lovely papers from my stash remind me of the last roses and warm colours of summer / beginning fall. I used the bottom part of a heart die to great the triangle and for the second triangle - left in the corner - I used the rose corner die and fairy.

Challenges I'm joining:
Crafty Friends - Use more than 1 die

Thank you and hope you enjoy whatever season you are experiencing!

Cheers to Beauty

 Good day

It is time for a new challenge at Creative moments and we have a fun twist this month of summer fun. We are sponsored by Mirtillamente. I have used Le Gine: Dorothy. I have coloured her with Prisma pencils. She reminds me of warm summer holidays with cocktails at the beach and beautiful sunsets. I probable had a lot of ideas, but in the end I played with warm colours like green and red. The designer paper is from my Sea breeze paper pad from Marianne's design. I used a number emboss folder to go with my sentiment in Afrikaans saying each age has its own beauty. Cheers to beauty!

Challenges I'm joining:
Mirtillamente - June anything goes
Stick it down - July card sketch
Aud sentiment #294 - Summer and sentiment
Can you handle the pressure - Anything goes with emboss folder with twist of bird (did not play twist)
Inkspirational #267 - Use a digital element

Guest designer at Twisted Thursday

Good day

I was asked to be a guest designer at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday. When I received the month's challenges my brain started to work in overdrive and I decided it is a perfect time to try some new techniques and started printing some of my few images I have from the sponsor.. Then I got the news they are closing down in mid June and there all my inspiration was drained. But I ended up making this project for a father's day card. I used fishes from Wink wink wink who is our sponsor this month.
I played with paper from all for men. Used some heat embossing on the tag and to fit the sketch I added staples.  I have printed 2 different sizes of the same image, one black and white and the other
pre-coloured.

Challenges I'm joining:
Moving along with times #143 - Masculine / Father's day
Digi Doodles #50  - Boys and toys
Sheepski Design #63 - Checks and or stripes
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour challenge 31 May - 15 June - Gray, blue, green twist Father's day

Thank you and hope you have a wonderful day.

New sketches with a reminder

Good day

It is already June. For some of us we are all looking forward to summer holidays, for others, like me, we are in the middle of winter. Super exciting. Luckily our winter is more or less 3 months and then summer will arrive. I'm at the beginning of a new season of my life and have mix senses, but I'm super excited for the change. Hopefully by the end of the month I' have some more news.

Today is also the start of new sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. As always you can do with them what ever you love, though we do have a twist this month of red, white & blue in celebration of the Queen of England's jubilee.
I did not do the twist this time around since I needed some other cards.

For the first sketch I decided to use the image from Polkadoodles - Cute Cats and Kittens. This is also a reminder project for Creative Moments where polkadoodles are the sponsor. I've used some bits and pieces from my scrapbook stash from all about pets stash.

Challenges I'm joining:
Daring Cardmakers: Flair not square
Polkadoodles Wk22 - Anything goes
Penny's paper craft #522 - Anything goes

For my second project I played with some die cuts from the Dada range from Nellie's choice, since my friend had a baby shower for her first grand child whom will arrive in July. The theme is all kinds of animals. I used kraft paper as base with some paper from my Safari stack from DCWV. I have personalized it a bit with the baby boy's name. Some brads and buttons was added as finishing touch.

Challenges I'm joining:
Allsorts - #678 - Anything but Birthday
The Paper Shelter #514 - Inspired by a movie - Lion King
Moving along with times #143 - Masculine/Father's day
Crafty Friends #156 - Men or boys

Hope you will come and join us with your lovely creations at SSW2.

Baby shower bag

Image from Sheepski design - Mini me

 Good day

Today I want to share with a bag I made from a recycled paper bag that I got when shopping some clothes awhile ago. Lately I tend to keep most of the paper bags for recycling purposes. When I was looking at some images from Andrea at Sheepski Design this image called Mini Me just gave me the inspiration I needed for this baby shower bag I made for a friend's first grandchild. The theme is animals. I also found this paper in my All About boys scrapbook stack and it just fitted the theme, so I kept everything very simple. The base paper is brown mulberry paper golden paisley patterns on and it is like from ages ago. The sentiment is also scrapbook letter stickers, saying congratulations.

Challenges I'm joining:
Sheepski design FB #72 - For the boys
C.R.A.F.T #639 - Recycle it

Thank you and have a lovely day!

Let's make music!

Good day

This is another special requested project for a friend of mine's granddaughter. She loves pink and playing piano. I found this digi - Tori famous - from Kenny K in my digi stash that suited the request well. I played with papers from my stash and created one of my favourite theme projects: Music. I have coloured the image with my prisma pencils, though I still need some practice on a darker skin tone. Dies are from Crealies and Lea Crealies. I used a Cuttlebug piano key emboss folder on the pink down strip.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Sweet Stampin - Use book print/music sheet/maps
Crafty Calender - May - Anything goes
Inspirational - Use anything that you were gifted or were free. (My image was free)
Crafter's cafe #285 - Spots &/ Dots
Sheepski design #62 - For the girls
2 Sisters on the Blog - Sketch with I turned 90°.

Thank you and have a joyful day!
