Butterfly dreams

 A tented card
Digi from Digistamp4Joy
Seems a Little Sketchy

Good Day

Can you believe it, another monochrome card. Just felt a bit purple this time, though I've used more glitter on this card. It is a birthday card for one of my fellow bible study friends. I used this butterfly girl from Digistamp4Joy and I used a butterfly Spellbinder diecut as frame. The butterflies that came out of the diecut I've pasted all over and covered them with purple glitter. The sentiment I've found on Facebook and if translated says: "Dreams are like stars...you may never touch them, but if you follow them they might bring you to your destiny."

Challenges I'm joining in:
Charisma Cardz #29 - Monochrome
Crafts 4 Eternity # 82 - Brilliant Birthdays
Crafty Catz #143 - All that Glitter
Sisterhood of Crafter's - Pearls, Lace & Diamonds
Divas by Design #45 - Happy Birthday
Colour me creative - Make it girly

Thank you and have a blessed weekend!

Shweesh Shweesh

Good Day

Shwees Shwees.....the sound of fresh snow under the skis or in this case the snowboard. This is the one thing we do miss of European winters. This digi is from Digi my World. Since Monday I'm playing with ideas on blue. I'm not much into monochrome. Somehow I cannot think in one colour shades, but it tickled me until this morning and things just fell into place. The striped papers is from M & W and I used a Cuttlebug snow emboss folder on the left. I digged through my stuff and came up with a winter scrap pack with goodies in. Including this "snowball" with sentiment. Add a touch of glitter on the snow.

Challenges I'm joining:
Mojo Monday #251 - Sketch
Make my Monday  - 3 Shades of Blue
Charisma Cardz # 29 - Monochrome
Craft Punked #30 - Speed demons
Crafts 4 Eternity # 82 - Brilliant Birthdays
Cute Card Thursday #227 - Distressing

Santa on vacation

Project using Santa Scuba from Bugaboo

Sketch used from Catch the Bug

Hallo

I was one of the privilege contesters that have won the Xmas in July series from Bugaboo. I really do appreciate them. It will make it much easier to create Christmas cards with a warmer theme than snowflakes and jingle bells. This one is called Santa Scuba. The scallop paper is from Basic Grey and the light blue is from Me to you, especially for you. I've used soft magic on the frame and some glitter on the hat. My sentiment: "Luckily Christmas can be celebrated all over the world....even under the sea". Unfortunately some of the paint fell off from my eyelet crab when I smacked it in. The twist is to add a flower. I've sneaked  a brad in between the sea stars. Wasn't sure how to create a sea flower.

Challenges I'm joining:
Catch the Bug Challenge - Sketch
Cupcake Craft Challenge #202 - Ocean
The Crazy Challenge #125 - Ocean
Crafty Calender July - Fun in the sun with sparkle and shine
Cards for men # 15 - Christmas in July

Chocolate Bathe

My Project using Ruby Chocolate Bathe from Bugaboo

Sketch I've used as base.

Good Day

My Mother in Law is celebrating her 70th birthday next weekend. So we're going to have a bit of family bash, with the family from Abu Dhabi visiting here, too. I know she loves chocolates and I thought the sentiment will be appropriate for the occasion. The striped paper is from First edition's Daydream collection and the dotted paper is fro Craft Work Cards's vintage rose paper pack. The sentiment is from Annette and I tried to make the plain brown look like a piece of chocolate with some embossing and a diecut in the corner.

Challenges I'm joining:
Digistamp4Joy #47 - Stripes and dots
Come and get it Challenge # - Bingo - Gems, Ribbon, Button
Divas by Design #45 - Happy Birthday
The Sisterhood of Crafters  - Diamonds, Pearls, Lace - use at least one

Thank you for your visit and have a splendid day!!

Spring is coming.....soon

Good Day....Again

This time with a bit of contrast from my previous post. When I saw the colour combo from The Play date cafe, this paper came up and I just had to use it. Unfortunately, I do not know from whom it is. I probably bought it a year ago. I did not want to over create it, since the paper is just to beautiful. Just added some corner dies from Cuttlebug in 2 tones, a ribbon and a butterfly with some peel-offs as finishing touch.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Play Date Cafe #141 - Colour Combo
Use it Tuesday #36 - Uncut paper
Anything goes Challenge #72 - Let's not be square

Thank you

Oak fairy

Good Day
I was inspired by CR84FN's Coral, brown and tan, but I'll not be entering their challenge with this project. I just love coral and though we have past autumn, I did not do any autumn cards. Somehow I do love autumn with all its vibrant warm colours. This is Oakfairy with leaves from Guru kitty, which I have received in the Progressive Challenge over at Crafter's Digital Art centre and it suited this colour combo. I've coloured her with H2O pencils and used pigment ink for the distressing. back designer paper is from First edition and is called New Leaf. Sentiment I've taken from Facebook and finished it of with Marianne's designs swirls and golden pearls.

Challenges I'm entering:
A Die for a Sketch #2 - Sketch (diecut Circle Scallops from Simply 2-die-4, Large Deckled Rectangle from Spellbinder)
Di'Digi Design - Mystical Creatures
Tottaly Gorjuss #141 - Leaf it in
Top Tip Tuesday #81 - All about Circles

Thank you and have a lovely day!

I'm purrfect

Good Day

Just a quick post on this Monday, hopefully not to blue where ever you are. I have to admit, I am not fond of cats but this Fancy Cat from Meljen's design is just so adorable cute. She is so all stylish dressed up for the occasion. This time I've coloured her with H2O pencils in a touch of poppy red and black. I've recycled these feather twine from a Christmas gift bag's handles. The black designer paper is from DCWV and I used a Spellbinder beaded oval for the frame and add a finish touch of gems.
Some challenges I'm joining:
Dynamic Duos #12 - Poppy Parade & Basic Black with the option of punches( hope diecuts are included)
Craft your Passion #120 - Black, White plus one (red in my case)

Try stampin on Tuesday #75 - Sketch

Hallo
This is Wednesday challenge over at Catch the Bug week long Christmas in July challenge and bloghop. This time you had to create a humoristic project. I've mentioned before that I have a limited quantity of Bugaboo digi, so I had to improvised. This time I used the freebie of Tuesday again. My sentiment: Who wants a white xmas, if you can have more fun in the sun! Festive greetings from sunny South Africa. I do love white Christmases, but here we have sunny Christmases and I'll be sending some sun to my friends in France for Christmas.I believe everybody loves sun and beaches, though weather does not always permit, not even in summer, to enjoy these moments. Papers are from stash and I've used a Marianne's design for the border on the left and a Cuttlebug emboss folder for the top lights. Used red snowmen eyelets on my sentiment tag for contrast.
Other challenge I'm joining for the first time is Can you digi it #14 a day at the beach.

Thank you
Olga

Tropical Santa

Sketch from the Outlawz Wednesday Challenge SC071812

Hallo

This is Tuesday Challenge over at Catch the Bug week long Christmas in July challenge and bloghop. This time the Santa Claus freebie was provided and you had to create a project with a tropical theme using the freebie. I sure can relate to Santa Claus on the beach, since Christmas is in the middle of our summer vacation and most people celebrate Christmas some where on vacation. The small digi next to my sentiment is from Shelley's Images. I've used the sketch from The Outlawz and I'm entering Crafty Sentiment's challenge colour challenge in Orange and Blue

Thank you
Olga.

Anything but a Card

Hallo

This is Monday's challenge over at Catch the Bug Week long Christmas in July bloghop and Challenge. Use any other digital image to create a Christmas project anything but a card. I've used Gus b-day optional and while I was playing the song turned in my head and then I used it on my sentiment. As I mentioned in previous post that snowflake and reindeer is not typical of an African Christmas, so I have found this motorbike as quite a good replacement. The other challenge I'm joining is ABC Christmas Challenge N-not a Card.

Thank you.

Festive greetings from the South to the North

Sketch from the Outlawz July 11

Hallo
My third post for today! With all the Christmas in July challenges, I used the opportunity to start with this year's collection. This is Giraffe mistletoe digi from Digistamp4Joy. This time I used colours of my country's flag as part of a challenge. Some of our native people does the most beautiful bead work and this time I thought I'll reflect it in my card. As I mentioned previously, Christmas in South Africa is in the middle of our summer holidays and is filled with sunny days next to a pool or beach. So snow flakes and reindeer does not quite fit our season. My husband used to tell our friends in France that Father Christmas comes with an agriculture tractor and trailer with the presents, in his red shorts and t-shirt, in South Africa. Though with this card I used a French sentiment stamp, for it will be heading North soon. The frame is from spellbinders and is called Fleur de Lis Rectangular.

Challenges I'll be joining:
Creatilious Challenge #36 - Christmas in July
There she goes #TSG165 - Christmas in July
Robyn Fetish Challenge #116 - Christmas in July
Drunken Stamper Challenge #93 - Christmas in July with a summer twist

Beach bum birthday

 My project
Willow Sketchie Challenge 12 July

Good Day
It was with a shock when I realized time did not stand still, while I was away. As usual I run late with a few dates. First of all I want to say Bonne Fêtes National to all my French friends whom have celebrated their Bastille day celebrations on the 14th of July. With that I also realized one of our friends in France is celebrating his birthday next week. This surfer boy from Digistamp4Joy, just fit this celebration. With my searching for paper I have found this wavy paper from Clairefontaine and it just fit the theme of waves in summertime. The tag and sticker are from scrapbook stash and I added a sun and crab eyelet and I used Tim Hotltz distressed powder for the sand look.

Some sunshine on this cold day

 My project

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #140
Crazy 4 Challenges #C4C145 sketch

Good Morning

The school started this morning. It is back to normal, though it is freezing cold this morning. We did not had any snow or rain but we have the wind that blows through everything.
This card I made for my sister in law, Hannelie from Desert Diva. She is currently in South Africa visiting the family, but she had a very big neck operation last week. I know she loves yellow, but do not have a rose digi, so I decided I'll just do these daffodils, a digi from Joanna Sheen's Pamela West series. They will soon be blooming in South Africa and I just love there smell....and it is yellow. Hopefully it will brighten up her day! The papers is from my stash - leftovers from previous projects. Just added some bling to finish it off.

Other challenge I'm joining:
The Craft Place Challenge 8 July - Anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown #106 - Bright Colours

Hope you have a warm sunny day!

African Christmas in July

My project using Christmas giraffes from Digistamp4joy
 The close-up on the glitter

Sketch from Cute Card Thursday #225

Good Day
After a week in the mountains, where we had some lovely weather to wander a round, we are back just before the snow started to fall. Currently we only have the wind, but I can feel that this cold front is approaching us and it is a massive one from all the news in the southern parts of my country, where the roads a closed because of the snow fall. Unlike the other parts of the world, snow in our country is a rarity and people do not know how to react to it and we are not as equipped as other countries.

I used the time this morning to catch up on a few crafting projects. I was really excited when I saw the first challenge for Christmas in July. It really bugged me to find a nice summery theme for Christmas. Though we share the same reason for Christmas, we do not share the same atmosphere for Christmas than the Northern hemisphere. For Christmas for us is summer holidays and watermelon time and I wanted to break away from the traditional red, green and gold and snowflake idea.
When I found this digi from Digistamp4joy, I was super excited. This is probably the closest I'll get to send my friends some season greetings from here - really South African style and not just like the rest of the world. I've used the black and white theme from Digistamp4joy as departure, but I have to admit that I only decided on the other colour this morning - a bit of bling. The black and white paper is from DCWV - all dressed up stack and the tag paper is from the Christmas Papercraft Collection from the Craft magazine two years ago. Tags done with Cuttlebug templates and the rest with Spellbinders. All accessories is from my stash. The sentiment is computer generated and I went over it, with a gold gelpen. I've used a white gelpen on the black bow tie too, though it shows grey.

Challenges I'm joining:
Cute Card Thursday #225 - Sketch
Digistamp4joy #45 - Black, white and 1 colour - mine is gold
Totally Gorjuss#140 - It's Christmas in July
Forever Friends # 40 - Christmas in July

Young and in love

Hallo

This time I want to join in the challenge and blog hop at Digi Darla's Challenge #18. They have this fun sketch to use with one of their digis. This is a boy freebie, and he look so in love with that cute shy face and with the bunch of flowers in his hands. I've used papers from my stash and I bought this diecut from 2die4 last Saturday. I thought I'll use the spirals on the papers as inspiration for my rhinestones. The flowers I've made some time ago for a previous project and is done with a clippunch. The emboss folder is from Cuttlebug and I used some chalk for distressing the background.

Other challenges I'm joining:
Digi Darla's Challenge #18 - Sketch
Jackson Digital #11 - Anything goes with addition of flowers

Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Olga

May the wors be with you

Sketch from the Facebook challenge from Chocolate, Coffee & cards, I've used.

Good Morning

With the independence celebrations in USA, there is quite a few challenges on patriotism and using the colours in your flag. Luckily, our flag in South Africa(see side bar), have 6 colours to play with, so mine is a quite colourful. I broke away from the more traditional animal kind of cards and focused on probably the one thing we all have in common in our diverse country and that is fire. We, love fire, cooking on fire - like barbecues (or as we call it: Braai or just making a pot of food (potjiekos)) or just making a fire to stare into it for the ambience, there is nothing in comparison than a fire in the bushveld with a lion's roar in the distance. In the more rural areas they make fire to keep warm as well. In South Africa, barbecue is not just limited to summertime, like in the northern hemisphere, but we can do it all year round and it is so part of our heritage that when you invite people for dinner, it is presumed that it will be for a braai.
The digi is from Di's Digis and I've used water pencils to coloured it. Backing paper is from the stack DCWV - One for the boys and the striped paper is from DOCrafts, that I have received with a magazine. The bright yellow diecut resembles an upcoming sun , and represent my province in South Africa - Mpumalanga - that means the upcoming sun. Buttons and ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is a local best wish: "May the sausage(wors) be with you"

Challenges I'm joining and was inspired by:

Good day

While my boys' friends were visiting and in between attending to them, I've made this card. I've printed the digi last week, but did not had time to finish it. It just did me good to make something more feminine. The digi is called lady with big hat from Digistamp4joy. The back designer paper is from Toga and the flower designer paper is from crafter's companion. The swirls are from a previous project that I have not used.

Stella Says Sketch #114

Good Day

Hope you had a wonderful relaxing weekend and that Monday was not too blue. With independence day in USA, there is a lot of celebrations going on in blogland. Though here, in the southern hemisphere, we only enjoy a mellow winter holidays, without a lot of excitement. So, I decided to take part in the celebrations with this project of mine.
