Pink Birthday

Good Morning

My boy's teacher is celebrating her birthday soon. So he chose this beautiful digi from Sliekje, called cupcake girl. Like many times before the card does not end up with the original colours in mind. He requested blue and the card ended up in pink. I just felt pink suites this cutie better. She seems so fragile. I've used some 3D paint on the frosting of the cupcake and added beads for decorations. The designer paper is from Kirsty Wiseman designed for the crafts beautiful magazine. The yellow is from basic grey and I used a cuttlebug emboss template for the embossing. The fluffy knitting twine and lace is from my stash. Finished it of with the flower brads and pearls in the righthand bottom corner.

Challenges I'm joining:

Cupcake Craft Challenge #180 - Fluffy pink Cupcake

Robyn Festish #95 - Pretty in Pink

Glitter Geeks week 7 - Girls and boys

Charisma Cardz #6 - Anniversairy

Use it Tuesday #25 - Celebrating their Birthday Party

Wanna grow old with you

Good Afternoon

My second post for the day! This time a bit more romantic. When you are a young, you believe that you will have honeymoon for ever. But that is not very long lived, according to a british study (2008) the honeymoon phase only last 31 months and 25 days. Then reality kicks in and you have to cope with everyday stress. So, for me, the picture of two elderly people still holding hands is the ultimate form of love. For it takes a lot to keep the romance alive in the mist of everyday hustle and bustle. With all the current valentine challenges, I've decided maybe it is time to work on my own romance for a change as well. Hubby just might need it. I only hope he will be around on the 14th of February. Now, for my project. A gate folding card. I've used a Mo Manning Clear stamp called Jack & Ginger. Instead of normal black ink I've used a light grey and coloured it with aquarelles. I saw that this is the new tendency to do colouring. I did some lacé technique on the background. The papers is from my scrapbook stash. Used a fiskar heart corner punch and added some heartshape rhinestones. The sentiment was computer generated and say "I wanna grow old with you on my side".

I was guided by the following challenges:

JUGS # 120 - Red, pink & white

Cupcake Craft # 176 - All you need is love

Get hippity with ippity #13 - Hearts inspiration

Use it Tuesday #24 -All about love

May you have a day full of love!

Thank you

Hallo

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and for all of you whom had to go back to work today, good luck. Mine was quiet with some lovely summer thunderstorms.
With today's card I've used some white paper with a bit of crackle background, unfortunately not visible on the photo, with the swiss dots emboss template, cuttlebug, as background. The flowers is a sissix template and a marianne's design template was used with the vellum top level. The birdies clear stamp is from Pink Petticoat and the sentiment from Ladybug crafts ink, done in white perfect pearl. Friends

Such a warm and luscious photo inspiration. Whether you get excited about the idea of some warm pumpkin soup infront of the fireplace or playing in the falling leaves like a child.

Good Morning

I was inspired by Paint your world's challenge to make a frame with a picture stamped into it. There is a very nice tutorial on there blog. Since digi stamps is the current buzz thing to do, it's been a while since I used any of my stamps. I used "doodle frames" from stampendous for my frame with some gold wet embossing and my picture is "sisters" from Leeré Aldrich, Stampavie. The outer border was made with a diecut from Marianne's design. The designer paper is from Cardmaking and papercraft magazine and was chosen for it is warm colours inpired by the above picture, I added some lace and pearls and for the sentiment in Afrikaans(friends) I used some gold peel-offs, to give it a bit of shabby chic feeling.

Challenges I am entering:

Paint your world #5 - stamp picture frame with picture

A Gem of a Challenge #34 - sketch and add sentiment of stitching faux or real

Charisma Cardz #45 - Lace and Pearls

Craft your Passion #85 - Photo inspiration

Have a nice day

Dreaming of a White Christmas....

Just a quick hallo
I've been creative with other mediums lately, so my mojo for paper were a bit low. It is time for round 5 at CDAC with free digis provided. So my digi is the one from Just some lines, an angel teddy dreaming. Since we do not have white christmas in South Africa, I thought I'll be dreaming of those we had in France, from there my sentiment. I've used my Cuttlebug snowflake emboss folders for the background and for the border. The metal snowflakes brads are from my stash as well as the brazzille papers. The ribbon, I've done a while ago for another card, but never used it. I've used a snowflake eyelet with it.
Today I'm entering my first challenge in a unknown language but could not resist when I saw Dianescarlett from Scrap Affair, whom design for Paint your world, with the theme of angels or demons, where I got my mojo from for today's post. Thank you Dianescarlett.

Challenges I'm entering:

Crafter's Digital Art Centre, cdacpc5, JSL - Round 5 with theme of festive and cool colour code
Aud Sentiment #39 - Winter theme
Gem of a Challenge #32 - Sketch
Paint your world #3 - Angel and demons
Charisma Cardz#42 - Embossing
Use it Tuesday #17 - Metal

Thank you for visiting and wish you a splendid day.

Sunflower time

Hallo
This is my third project for the Crafter's Digital Art Centre Progressive challenge, part 3, with the theme of autumn. The image is from Just Inklined, provided by CDAC. I've coloured it with aquarelles and used some perfect pearl on the wings of the butterfly. I also did some 3D with the butterfly, to give some dimension to the card. I've used some brazzille card stock and some glitter daisy paper and added some peel-off corners.
I am also entering:
A Gem of a Challenge #30 - Sketch
Craft Catz #101 - Autumn
CDAC cdacpc3 - digital image

For everybody in the northern hemisphere, I wish you a colourful autumn and I'm sending you all a bunch of sunfilled sunflowers to cherish throughout the cold dull winter months.

Thank you for visiting.

White on white bingo

Close-up on the Victorian Fan and the paper used.

Hallo

On this sunny Wednesday morning. Hope you have some sun and joy in your day.

Just a quick share this morning. For me, one of the more difficult challenges is a single colour on itself and a single layer card. And, I belief for all crafters a challenge is something you have to try to succeed. Well I used the Victorian Fan Digi from Priscillastyles from CDAC. I've printed it on some textured glazed paper, to give you a real fan effect. I used some promakers for colour and some glitter as well. I had some vellum paper to make the centre border, on which I have put on some glitter to give you a daisy effect. Then, I found some mother-of-pearl fan confetti the other day and finished off the card with some pearls. I used the sketch from the girls at Midnight Madness, but had to adjust it a bit, since my shape of card is a bit different.

So I'm entering the following challenges:

A Gem of a challenge #27: White on white

Charizma Cardz #31 Team Carly : Bingo - Flowers, pearls and glitter

Thank you and have a perfect day!

Do you want to go shopping?

Good morning
Time for a girly teenager card. Not often I can do this, since I only have boys. But I do enjoy making a girly card from time to time and I have all this nice things to use and I think for a teenager, fashion is an important subject.
The image is a Mo Maning clear stamp from Stampavie. The image was coloured with aquarelles and I added the purple pigment ink. I applied it with a dry wet wipe from the outside in, which I find the best medium to apply this with, since it give you a fluent effect. The dotted and printed paper is from "All about girls stack" from DCWV and the rest of the paper is from my scrapbook stash. For my embellishments I used some rub-ons and peel-offs, that I glued to flower diecuts.
I am entering the following challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge #26 - Sketch - the sketch is presented in the most beautiful ice cream colours and I could not resist.

Thank you for the visit and have a nice day!

Going on a safari....

Hallo on this quiet Sunday afternoon in South Africa

I have found this freebie over at Kenny K and I could not resist. Giraffes are such gracious animals. The ladies at Midnight Madness sketch 112 also have an irresistible sketch and prizes. So I have used Safari Chic paper in the background and on a sale, sometime ago in France, I have found this faux leather piece as well as the textured paper that almost looks like tree-bark. The guinea fowl feather and porcupine quill is from my stash and I added Edwin Zookeeper from Magnolia, the images I've coloured with aquarelles and the diecut is from Marianne's design.
So I am going to try my luck on the following challenges, since I feel a bit reckless today and all the DT cards is such an inspiration for me:
Midnight Madness Sketch 112 - Sketch 112
Crafty Creations Challenge 127 - Boyz to men
Paper Crafting Journey Nr 14 - For him
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Your Favourite of the last 150 Challenges - nr 13 Inspiration from Home - I have interpret home as South Africa, whom is known for its game reserves and I could not resist to enter a second time this week.
Fairy Fun Fridays 57 - On holidays - The bush is definitely my favourite place to go on holiday.
A Gem Challenge blog 25 - Let's hear it for the boys
Use it Tuesday 11 use011 - You are an animal
