Go for a six!

Good Morning

A quick post this morning. My boys are invited for a birthday party this afternoon, so mom has to produce a quick birthday card. Thanks to the CAS-friday sketch, this was a quick production. The image is from a online colouring book. I just could not resist, when Frances posted the challenge on CCEE stampers for Aussie day celebrations. Since South Africa is a big rival of Aussie sport and we are both cricket playing countries. Our colours are also the same, though Australia is yellow with green and South Africa is Green with yellow/gold. The colour scheme just fitted in well. The sentiment says congratulations and we use it as a birthday wish too.

Challenges I'm joining:
CAS- fridays CFC37 - Sketch
CCEE stampers #1204 - Aussi day celebrations
Cards for men #2 - Boys and their toys
Shelly Image TTT - Text it - use any text infront.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend!

Wanna grow old with you

Good Afternoon

My second post for the day! This time a bit more romantic. When you are a young, you believe that you will have honeymoon for ever. But that is not very long lived, according to a british study (2008) the honeymoon phase only last 31 months and 25 days. Then reality kicks in and you have to cope with everyday stress. So, for me, the picture of two elderly people still holding hands is the ultimate form of love. For it takes a lot to keep the romance alive in the mist of everyday hustle and bustle. With all the current valentine challenges, I've decided maybe it is time to work on my own romance for a change as well. Hubby just might need it. I only hope he will be around on the 14th of February. Now, for my project. A gate folding card. I've used a Mo Manning Clear stamp called Jack & Ginger. Instead of normal black ink I've used a light grey and coloured it with aquarelles. I saw that this is the new tendency to do colouring. I did some lacé technique on the background. The papers is from my scrapbook stash. Used a fiskar heart corner punch and added some heartshape rhinestones. The sentiment was computer generated and say "I wanna grow old with you on my side".

I was guided by the following challenges:

JUGS # 120 - Red, pink & white

Cupcake Craft # 176 - All you need is love

Get hippity with ippity #13 - Hearts inspiration

Use it Tuesday #24 -All about love

May you have a day full of love!

Thank you

And for every 25 entries we will choose one more random entry to receive one image of their choice.
(Up to $3 in value)

Above is the colour bingo challenge #94 over at Craft your passion. My choice is purple, orange and red. At first I thought it a rude colour combo, but I have to admit that my papers fell in the right combo.

My teepee card with "Mexer balance diet" digi from Bugaboo Digi Stamps for the Crafter's Digital Art Centre's challenge round 10.(cdacpc10, bug) The sentiment is computer generated and says "All I need is lots of love and a chocolate a day to keep the doctor away". Though the theme for this round is "Bringing in the new year" I thought everybody needs love everyday and something sweet to brighten up your day, whether it is something like a piece of chocolate or just a small gest like a smile or a hug. Below is a view on what the other sides looks like. I've used a small magnet to keep the card close.

The designer paper is from Toga and Papercraft magazine. Purple cardstock from my stash. I saw the tutorial on how to make a teepee card on Shelly's image blog. I'm also joining in the fun of a Designer's choice for a Terrifically Thrilling Thursday at Shelly's image where anything goes.

Thank you for your visit and have a nice day!

Thinking of you....

Good Monday Morning

It started to rain yesterday afternoon and it rained on and off since then. An unusual sign in South Africa, where we are more known for our severe thunderstorms. I used the time to dig in my stash and I came upon this elegance brass template from Marianne's design, that I haven't used for ages. With still the black and white theme from CAS-fridays in my mind, I started this card. The sentiment is done with one of my oldest rubber stamps, saying thinking of you, and I used white heat embossing. Though with this sentiment I'll be thinking of my friend that has to go for some medical test, soon and we hope that the results will be good. Finishing it off with some pearls.

Joining in the fun:
CAS-fridays CFC#36 - penguin suite
Charisma Cardz #2 - Clean and simple
One Stop Craft Challenge # 166 - Under the weather/getting well soon

Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful day!

Penguin Slide

Good Morning

With a nice cup of earl grey tea in one hand I want to share this card with you. As I have mentioned before, I have to make a few male cards. I had these penguin stamps almost a year now. They are from the Ollyfant Storybook stamps, distributed by Kars. I have been playing with this idea now, for a week and with the girls at CAS-friday's challenge - penguin suite, it finally came to paper. I've used some black paper with a leatherly look with a bit of bling in the right corner and with the sentiment:" wishing you no unexpected downfall" I've used plain black paper as backing piece - though it does not look black. Just used a plain fineliner and a white gelroller for the borderlines.
I'm join in the fun at:
CAS-Fridays CFC 36 - Penguin suite - only black and white allowed
Charisma Cards #2 - Clean and simple
I did it creations #90 - Animals
Glitter Gleeks week 3 - Two images

Hope you can enjoy a nice cup of tea, too.

Thank you

A Golfer's Day

Good Morning

A change in style, a bit more CAS this time. This, the first of a few male cards that I have to make. I've used a diecut on the back of the circle to give it the same uneveness of a golfball. The striped papers is from DCWV - All about boys. The golfer is from an online colouringbook, that I adjusted a bit. The golf charms is from my stash. I've used a Fiskar border punch for the scallops on the green.

CCEE stampers CCEE1202 - Sketch
Charizma Cards #1 - Happy Birthday
Dutch Dare #DDCC147 - For the boys

Congratulations!

Good Morning

With hubby away, I woke up early this morning and decided to take time off to do some crafting. With Hannelie's reminder of the Robyn's Fetish Cottage's sketch and with my stepdaughter's good results in her final exam it just became the beginning of this card. With my playing around in blogland I visited Shelly's image blog. She has a quite interesting challenge, called roll 'em, where she has a list of 10 options and using the true random generator 3 times you get the recipe for your card. Well, as I went through the list I was puzzled by nr.10 - doodling, since it is not a technique I'm acquainted with. As faith wanted it, my 1st number generated was nr. 10 - doodling, so......Google here I come. Eventually I came upon a site called Paper Craft Junkies, where you can find tutorials and techniques. According to them: A doodle is basically any mark on your craft project which has been made by hand and can be anything from dashed lines for faux stitching to your handwriting when journaling to extravagant swirls and flourishes. Below is a close up on my attemp on doodling. I do have a natural unsteadiness.

I've used vellum paper from W&M and the glitter dot paper is from DCWV stack - All about girls. Swirls from marianne's design and the flowers done with a clippunch was done with a piece of scrap grey glitter paper due to a lack of silver paper, brads and peel-offs from my stash. The cute dragon is called Smookie and is a clear stamp from Nellie Snellen distributed by Kars in the Netherlands. The sentiment - Always wear your invisible crown - from Paulette from TLC was found on Aud Sentiment's blog. I found it appropriate since my stepdaughter made us very proud on her 3 destinction and as she starts a new era in her life at university soon.

So I'm joining the following challenges:

I did it creations #89 - Sketch

Aud Sentiment #45 - Inspirations & sentiment

Sweet Stampin - Spots and dots

Shelly's image blog 12 jan 2012 - Nr 10 - Doodling

- Nr 3 - Layers

- Nr 8 - Brads, Buttons or bling

Chocolate, coffe & cards #4 - Glitter Latte

Craft your Passion #92 - Mythical Creatures

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend

Tweet Birthday

Hallo

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and for all of you whom had to go back to work today, good luck. Mine was quiet with some lovely summer thunderstorms.
With today's card I've used some white paper with a bit of crackle background, unfortunately not visible on the photo, with the swiss dots emboss template, cuttlebug, as background. The flowers is a sissix template and a marianne's design template was used with the vellum top level. The birdies clear stamp is from Pink Petticoat and the sentiment from Ladybug crafts ink, done in white perfect pearl. The forever friend bear is from chipboard, part of a christmas card kit I bought before christmas. Finished off with some rhinestones and a white feather.

As Mad As A Hatter

Good Morning

I had a bit of struggle with today's post. It just didn't want to pop out, but finally I joined everything toghether.

The digis is from the Alice in Wonderland II collection from Digi my World. I just love the cereze cat's grin. Though, I had to do some research since I do not really know the story of Alice in Wonderland. From there my sentiment, (computer generated) since it was a remark by one of the caracters in Alice in wonderland for the caracter The Hatter. I used some heat embossing on the teeth of the cat as well as on the borders, which I mixed with some purple glitter. The lower level paper is a cut off piece from my previous project from W&M and the velvet embroid ribbon is a piece from long ago. It just fitted the scene where it is part of an imaginary world beyond the rainbow of which my brother is very fond off, since he loves reading. This card is special, since it is his first out of my hand after 17 years of absence.

Challenges I'm joining:

Aud Sentiment #45 - Any sentiment with using scraps

Charisma Cardz # 52 - Over the rainbow

Crafty Creations #151 - Heat it up with heat embossing

Digi my World #1 - Light up my life

Thank you

Puppy love

Good day

Wishing you all a year full of creativity, love and peace of mind and heart. After a few weeks of summer holidays I'm back, hopefully with few new ideas, a lot of energy and a bit more of myself than needed. Hopefully that will disappear soon, with a bit of work.
We had such a lovely surprise before christmas. There were some french people visiting Hubby's work and another collegue sended us some nice french gifts via them. It was such a delightful gesture that I just had to make them this Thank You card.

Now for my post. This is a digi from Pattie's Creations, one of round 9's digis over at the Crafter's digital Art Centre, with the theme of making it your own. We have received it before Christmas, but due to all the holidays the deadline was postponed to the 14th of January. I have to admit, I 'm glad since I had time off to play with the image in my head and I just love dogs and this puppy face.
The orange paper is from my stash and the rest is from W&M, which I also bought, just before christmas. I've used chalk ink for the orange distressing. The sentiment is done with my cuttlebug, one I bought just before christmas - you know that "for - mom - from - mom - gifts". The rhinestones, button and ribbon is from my stash.
The colour scheme choice was guide by Use it Tuesday's challenge of the colours of your favourite sports team - for me it is the Cheetah rugby team in central South Africa, with colours of jade, purple and mainly orange or white.

The challenges I'm joining in:
CDAC round 9 - cdacpc9, PC
Charisma Cardz #50 Team Gem - Anything goes
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 134
Use it Tuesday #22 - Yay team - colours of your favourite sport team
Glitter Geeks #30 - Brand spanking new bragging with your new stash

Thank you and have a splendid day!
Olga
