New challenge at Creative Moments

Good day

It is time for the last challenge for the year at Creative Moments. Since we are in the spirit of Christmas or winter, you can use that inspiration for our challenge. Beccy from Beccy's place is our sponsor and I have the privilege to play with Emu parade. It just suited our Southern Hemisphere kind of Christmas in the middle of our summer holidays. I also use her December challenge board to create my card. I used the middle row left to right - Colour with pencils, digital image, add some sparkle. I used some ribbon with sparkle and some shimmer board behind my image for the sparkle and I have coloured the image with my Prism Pencils. Papers from my stash and the sentiment is part of the package.

Challenges I'm joining:
Beccy's Place - December
Cheerful Sketches - December sketch
Incy Wincy - Christmas
Morgan's Art world - Anything goes

Hope you will come and join us at Creative Moments!

December Sketches at SSW 2

Good day

Kathie have created 2 new sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. I just had a fun time creating with them too. For the first one I created a birthday card for a friend of mine who celebrate her birthday on the 28th of December. She just love the soft teal colour. I used a stamp that I have bought in September and a few different dies. Added 2 dragonfly diecuts with some pearls as finishing touch.

Challenges I'm joining:
Crafter's cafe - Use dies and or punches
Crafty Calendar - Anything goes

Image from Sheepski Design called Garden Party

For the second one I took especially inspiration from the mood board of Colourful options, since white on white is just one of my all time favourite challenges, though today I played with white on white with a dash of colour. Since purple is my colour choice for this Christmas I used it on the gnomes' hats - image from Sheepski design called garden party. I'm a bit disappointed since the clear emboss pen did not change colour with the heat embossing on the brim of the hats. I think I used a different emboss powder in the past. I added some pearl accent on the beards. For the holly leaves, in the corner, I used a Fiskar emboss corner template. Added an Afrikaans peel-off sticker for the sentiment and some pearls.

Challenges I'm joining:
2 Sisters on the blog #69 - Christmas with holly leaves
Allsorts #705 - Christmas
Colourful options - Inspiration board
Creative Knockouts #481 - Winter wonderland
Sheepski design challenge #69 - This is the season

Hope you will come and join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Winter challenge in mid of summer

 Good day

We are finally reaching the end of the long road of selling our house! In a sense I am excited, but also sad since it is an end of an era. A lot of memories! But now new horizons beckons.

In the Northern Hemisphere it is summer and there are a new challenge at Creative Moments with the twist of Winter. So we want to see some cosy projects which reflects winter. Polkadoodles are our sponsor this month! I used Retire and Snooze Gnome. It fits our time of year, here in the southern part of Africa! Most people are preparing for a lovely summer holiday, time to relax and do things what you normally can't do, like taking a nap. I played with paper from Beyond the sea from P13. Coloured the image with Prisma pencils and distress the background with some chalk. Used some twine from my recycled stash. I used a sketch from the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge.

Challenges I'm joining:
Polkadoodles Wk46 - Anything goes
Let's Craft and create - Anything goes with twist of using a sketch
Crafter's Cafe # 291 - Use dies / punches
Colour Crazy Craft Wk45 - Anything goes

Hope you will come and join us at Creative Moments!

Christmas 2022

Good day

Many years ago when we still stayed in France I used to choose a colour or theme for Christmas (often non-traditional colours) and then I will do all the cards and decorations accordingly. I do get bored quickly with the same colours, so by choosing non - traditional colours and theme makes life interesting and also since I'm from the Southern Hemisphere and we are in the middle of summer holidays the traditional stuff does not always fit in.  Then we moved back to South Africa and the first few years I did the same, but then we started to take summer holidays over the festive season and I stopped doing it. Well this year we are forced to stay home due to work and I decided to bring back the old custom, with the difference I have asked my eldest and his friend to choose the colour combo. So they decided on purple, white and silver. Surely a lovely combo if you look around on the internet. With my first session of Christmas cards for this year I made 2 and are super excited on how it came out.

For the first one I used a stencil with Versa Magic's purple hydrangea and peel-off stickers for the sentiment. I made an aperture card with some dies of Nellie Snellen's slimline range. I would say quick and easy, but the measurements for the aperture did take some time.

Challenges I'm joining is:
Stick it down - November Card sketch
As you like it challenge - Non - traditional Christmas colours
Creative Knockouts - #478 Christmas

For my second card I played with some glitter cardstock and a tree die cut with some peel - off stickers and sticker sentiment. I must confess that some of these peel-off sticker's glue has evaporated, so old are these.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Allsorts #701 - Sparkle and shine
The Paper Shelter #533 - Add some bling
Moving along with time - Bright on dark

Hope you have a lovely creative day!

New Sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Good day

It is time for new sketches at the beginning of the month at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2, we have an optional twist of vintage of birthdays. A perfect time to Craft #11 - 2022 Anything goes

Image was coloured with Prisma pencils and I added some vintage rose coloured rhinestones.

Something different

Good day

Today I want to share something totally different from my usual style! I bought these stencil on my last shopping spree. It is 3 different sizes, but in the end it gives you this lovely dimension. I played with some of my new Versa magic inks, galaxy gold, cosmic copper and pumpkin spice. Then I added a die sentiment and rhinestones in the fresh green from colour hues to finish it up. I used the sketch of Stick it down and I'm joining in the autumn colours of the Sisterhood of Crafters. This is such a versatile colour combo whether you are in spring or autumn and I thought the sentiment of "Believe" will carry on in the inside with..... in the awe of Christmas, or age is only but a number.......

Have a lovely day!

Cats or bats at Creative Moments

Good day all

It is time for a new challenge at Creative Moments and we ask to see bats and or cats. It is a bit open for people, like me, that do not celebrate Halloween, to play along. We are sponsored by Mirtillamente and we received a few Halloween images for the challenge to play. I played with orange and a few warm colors and a crisp apple green, all the colors reflected in the designer paper, even found a piece of orange vellum for the right bottom square. I made a normal greeting card since I do not celebrate Halloween.

Challenges I took inspiration from:
Mirtillamente #14 - Anything Halloween.
Double D - Octoberfest

Thank you for your visit and hope you will come and join us at Creative Moments.

Sketch time again!

Good day!

It has been almost 4 months since my last post. We finally have moved, though we are still pending between the houses, but at least I have my craft room in my new home, unpacked and ready to play. Discovered some old stuff and got rid of stuff that I have not used since I bought it ages ago.

With the new sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 it is time to unpack your creativity. We have some fabulous examples from the DT. We have twist too of autumn, thanksgiving and Halloween, is you want to play with something extra.

I played mainly with the autumn colours, since we do not celebrate Halloween in South Africa and we are at the start of a lovely spring!

For the first sketch I used an image from Pattie's creation and it was coloured sometime ago with my Prismacolor pencils and I added some accent gloss on the vase to look like water. I used papers from my stash with an embossing folder called "Turkish Delight" from Couture Creations for the leaves.

Challenges I'm joining:
Pattie's Creations #198 - Anything goes
Can you handle the pressure - Anything goes with twist of leaves
Stamping sensations - All things Autumn
Sheepski Design #67 - Autumn things

This was also an image, from Bugaboo, that I have printed ages ago and quickly coloured it up. I took the inspiration from the dotted paper in the background for the colours. I always need boy cards, some how.

Challenges I'm joining:
Crafty Catz #608 - Use blue somewhere
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Happy Everything

In the process of moving I had a day with my husband in Johannesburg. While he had his meetings I took some time of and spend it in one of my favourite craft shops. There I bought some sentiment stamps. Something I haven't done in ages. So for this project I used one of my new dies and stamps. I used some heat embossing with some glitter on the sentiment. I added a dragonfly and fairy die cut. These lovely papers from my stash remind me of the last roses and warm colours of summer / beginning fall. I used the bottom part of a heart die to great the triangle and for the second triangle - left in the corner - I used the rose corner die and fairy.

Challenges I'm joining:
Crafty Friends - Use more than 1 die
Double D  - Octoberfest
Let's Craft and create #188 - AG with twist of fall colours

Thank you and hope you enjoy whatever season you are experiencing!

I probable had a lot of ideas, but in the end I played with warm colours like green and red. The designer paper is from my Sea breeze paper pad from Marianne's design. Guest designer at Twisted Thursday

Good day

I was asked to be a guest designer at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday. When I received the month's challenges my brain started to work in overdrive and I decided it is a perfect time to try some new techniques and started printing some of my few images I have from the sponsor.. Then I got the news they are closing down in mid June and there all my inspiration was drained. But I ended up making this project for a father's day card. I used fishes from Wink wink wink who is our sponsor this month.
I played with paper from all for men. Used some heat embossing on the tag and to fit the sketch I added staples.  I have printed 2 different sizes of the same image, one black and white and the other
pre-coloured.

Challenges I'm joining:
Moving along with times #143 - Masculine / Father's day
Digi Doodles #50  - Boys and toys
Sheepski Design #63 - Checks and or stripes

New sketches with a reminder

Good day

It is already June. For some of us we are all looking forward to summer holidays, for others, like me, we are in the middle of winter. Super exciting. Luckily our winter is more or less 3 months and then summer will arrive. I'm at the beginning of a new season of my life and have mix senses, but I'm super excited for the change. Hopefully by the end of the month I' have some more news.

Today is also the start of new sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. As always you can do with them what ever you love, though we do have a twist this month of red, white & blue in celebration of the Queen of England's jubilee.
I did not do the twist this time around since I needed some other cards.

For the first sketch I decided to use the image from Polkadoodles - Cute Cats and Kittens. This is also a reminder project for Creative Moments where polkadoodles are the sponsor. I've used some bits and pieces from my scrapbook stash from all about pets stash.

Challenges I'm joining:
Daring Cardmakers: Flair not square
Polkadoodles Wk22 - Anything goes
Penny's paper craft #522 - Anything goes

For my second project I played with some die cuts from the Dada range from Nellie's choice, since my friend had a baby shower for her first grand child whom will arrive in July. The theme is all kinds of animals. I used kraft paper as base with some paper from my Safari stack from DCWV. I have personalized it a bit with the baby boy's name. Some brads and buttons was added as finishing touch.

Challenges I'm joining:
Allsorts - #678 - Anything but Birthday
The Paper Shelter #514 - Inspired by a movie - Lion King
Moving along with times #143 - Masculine/Father's day
