Beautiful old people

Good day

What a busy month that has past. Can't believe it is December already, it feels like I have missed a month. Even Blogger has a new look since I last opened it. Hopefully it is good thing.
With everything going on and me being away, I came home to no internet and I could not post this project before the end of November. This was November's digi for Digistamp4Joy's Facebook challenge. I made a birthday card for a lady whom will celebrate her 80+ birthday in early January. The sentiment was on my table for a while now and the colurs just came together with the paper from Dovecrafts' back to basics IV.

Challenges I took my inspiration from:
Aud Sentiment #169 - Anything goes with sentiment
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge - 29 November - Monochrome
The Outlaws Wednesday Sketch Challenge - 30 November
Digistamp4Joy #131 - Anything goes with twist of adding sparkle

Thank you and have a fantastic day!

Fuchsia, my favourite

Good day

I've been busy organizing this year's Christmas fair at our church. A new challenge, although I have been part of the organizing team for a few years. It starts on Monday and is lasting for the whole week. I sure do look forward to it. On the other hand it is not my favourite time of the year in blogland, since I do not celebrate Halloween what so ever. I made this card for one of my bible study ladies whom will celebrate her birthday in November, just after the market. It is our freebie from Margy, for this month's progressive challenge over at Digistamp4Joy's facebook page. This is my favourite flowers and I decided to use one of the less know colours and added a bit of shine with peel-offs in the corner and in the ribbon.

Challenges I used as guides:
C.R.A.F.T challenge #387 - Add ribbon, sparkle and shine
The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch challenge SC102616
Penny's Paper Crafty #301 - Anything goes
Digi Choosday #Wk 43 - Anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown #317 - Add a border

Thank you and have a lovely day!

Birthday special

Good day

I had a special request for 2 birthday cards on Thursday, but I spend the most of Friday and the whole of Saturday next to the hockey field. Our under 13 team made it to the finals and shared gold by drawing the game 0-0, but with 8 seconds shootout they lost 2-1. But they surprised everybody and a I think themselves too, to go all the way. Yesterday I had time to put my papers together and I made time to colour my image - Fancy from Saturated Canary - today. The designer paper is from Scruffy Little Cat, Crafter's Companion.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour challenge 13 September - Monochrome
Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 #98

Here in the southern hemisphere the temperatures have risen and everywhere the is a new colour popping up....especially green, though we are still waiting for a good shower of rain. To celebrate spring I used Spring flowers from Conie Fong and my designer paper is from First Edition Hideaway, was inspired by Double D's on the farm challenge. Patched life

Good day

I have to admit I have struggled with this year's August. I have torn my ligament and just as I thought I can look life in the face again without my cask, I got a terrible flu. I was in preparation for a Warrior Race by end of September and I had to withdraw due to no more preparation. At least I got my curtains done and I am preparing for our annual Christmas fare at the end of October.

This is the image from Liesie for our Digistamp4Joy Facebook progressive challenge for August. I manage somehow to finish it in time. My designer paper is fro First Edition's Hide Away. I received a whole sack of odds and ends lace from one of my Bible study ladies and I could use this beautiful piece to finish the project with some roses.

Though this is probably more a monochrome than bright, though I like the finished project. Everything are from my stash and I used the glitter shorts as my inspiration for the glitter on the image.

Celebrating Fairy Day!

Good day!

I can't believe there is an international fairy day! I actually heard it on the radio, yesterday and this morning when I looked at all the challenges of the past week I saw the Outlawz Festive Friday group is also celebrating it. Then I decided on this Spring Fairy from Julia Spiri. I opted for yellow, since it is a special celebration for someone who's favourite colour is yellow. I have to say, this project is a bit out of my comfort zone, sine it does not have a lot of elements, but in a sense I do like the end result. The leave is a punch from Martha Stewart and I added a bit of glitter. My sentiment I took from Inspiration station of Betsy Flot.

Challenges I'm joining:

Julia Spiri #21 - Anything goes with twist of something from a garden
Digistamp4Joy #125 - Fairies
Tuesday Morning Sketches #357
Chocolate, coffee & cards #112 - Girls of summer
The Outlawz Festive Fridays 24 June - Celebrating international Fairy Day

Thank you and have a fantastic weekend!

Well Done!

Good day

Had some "me" time today, more by force than anything else. All my men are on their own mission. But who are are complaining if it can be used to catch-up on crafting. This is a digi from talented Jenlee and is the digi for this month's Digistamp4Joy's Fcebook Progressive challenge. It reminds me of our niece who are currently studying in the Netherlands, she has such curly hair. I kept it a simply, since the designer paper, from DCWV - the foiled elegance stack, is busy at the background. The letters were cut with dies from Sizzix.

Challenges I'm joining:
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour challenge - Kraft, white and fuchsia with twist of foil
Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2-92
Art by Miran #61 - Anything goes
Brown Sugar #204 - Anything goes
Morgan's Art World #13 - Use patterned paper

Good day

This is Rory - time to paint the world from Lacy Sunshine, and she was lying on my table no for months and yesterday I took some me time and add some colour to her. The designer paper is from Graphic 45's secret garden collection. Yellow came to my mind since it is such a bright colour to sheer you up and reminded you of summer.....that is still far away from us in the South where we are in the middle of winter. It also reminded me of my sister in law you loves yellow!

Vir Jou

Good day

This is Alf from Julia Spiri, a new designer in Blogland. We have received him in a competition to celebrate 1000 likes on Facebook. I opted for a black, white and purple. In a sense I wanted to make a condolence card, but I'm still not sure if it will fit. On Wednesday morning a friend lost her fight against cancer. I used my swiss dots Cuttlebug emboss folder and a Fiskar emboss folder for the corners with some heat embossing to finish the colour. Letter cut with Sizzix dies.

Challenges I used as inspiration:
Use your Stuff #223 - Heat embossing
Tuesday Throwdown #294 - Embossing

Special delivery

Good day

Finally had time to play again. All my boys' trials are finished. Unfortunately non made it to the final teams, but I'm still very proud of them.

This is a image from Connie Fong and is this month's digi for the progressive challenge on Facebook. It is called Bella with gift. I had red, white with a touch of black in my head when I printed it, some time ago. But when I saw this inspiration picture the rustic feeling of the arrangement just triggered the card.
The designer paper is from J'adore from First edition. I used my A-2 Fancy Ribbon Threader from Spellbinder for the first time. I added a the cute bucket charm with a brad to make my flowers look like the arrangement on picture.

Challenges I used as inspiration:
The Paper Shelter #249 - Charming
Penny's Paper-Crafty #278 - Anything goes
