Catch the Bug Colour Challenge
My project:
Good Day
This is one of the digis at the last round at the Crafter's Digital Art Centre and is from Just some Lines and is called Little Girl Big Hat 2. I found her cute and just wanted to use her, but I just did know in what colours. At first I wanted to do her in red, but when I found this small flower paper from W&M, I knew this will do. I added a small button to her hat and the flowers is done with a new diecut from Docraft. The swirl in parchment paper, was on my table that I did not used on a previous project. The sentiment I have taken from Facebook.

Hope you all have a tranquil Sunday morning. I've been spoiled in bed with coffee, by my two beautiful sons. So, before I start preparing Sunday lunch, I want to share my card I made for a few challenges. It is the last round in the Progressive Challenge at Crafter's digital art centre and as the last few months we've received 5 digi from which we must at least make one card. It is ending the last day of May. This is the tooth fairy from A Day For Daisies. Such a cutie pie, but I had to make some adjustments, since I do not know many youngsters that have lost some teeth recently, so I've added some confetti stars on the teeth images. I had an older lady of 50+ in mind for this card. The Outlawz Tuesday colour challenge is having such fun colours, though my yellow is a bit pale. I think sunsets over the world is extravagant, but it can never beat a dust filled African sunset and these colours, besides red, are my favourite favourite. At first I wanted to use some black as highlighter, but in the end I ended up playing with only the base colours. The polka dot glitter papers is from First Edition's Daydream series and I used some amber pigment to distress it. The sentiment from Douglas Adam: "I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be". I so true for most of us.

Something new, something blue
The easel card
Good Day
Winter came with a bang......sniffing and coughing. That is not the PART of the winter that I like. Luckily it can only last 2 weeks and hopefully it will past sooner, than later.
A wedding card, so not me, but Alison does these kind of cards so beautiful, that I decided to try it a bit and there are some weddings coming up this summer. I've started off with iris blue and orange, but I prefer to do it in a subtle touch. The stamp is from Magnolia and I thing it is the very first time I've used it. I've used different white papers to add a bit of dimension to the card. Used a embossing plus: Blooming Bouquet, from Cuttlebug on the blue parchment paper. The flowers is left overs from a previous project and the embellishments is from my stash.

Gotcha....under my skin
Good Morning
It is has been so windy the last few days, I can almost revive a coal mine if I hold up a wet towel. The season also changed a bit since I was in blogland. It is a bit frisky.
I've started this card on Friday with a digi from Crafty Cardmakers with the theme of a male card. A bit simple, like the shark. I have found these crab eyelets at a shop and thought this will do the trick for today and added the fish brad to give it a bit colour.

My project
Good Day
I've won this digi lately from Meljen's design and I just had to use it.She looks so chic. Designer paper is from the All-dressed-Up-stack from DCWV and has some silver glitter on it, though not visible on the photo. I've found this embossed paper stock with the shade of yellow with black, in my stash, added some mulberry paper, used a bit of 3D gold paint on the necklaces and on the hat's trimming. The sentiment says: You've no idea, Darling, how hard it is to be me. I've taken it from one of the blogs. It suites this image so good. So, hopefully it is not an offence.

Wine, the drink of Fairies
Good Day
A second post for today. Quite in contrast with my first one. Something to brighten your day. Digi is from Broken box and is called: Wine Fairy. The designer paper is from Toga and all the rest are card stock from my stash. I've used a swiss dots emboss folder on the yellow. The grape embellishment is a sticker from a scrapbook collection. The yellow daisies is a ribbon from my stash. Hope you will find this interesting and that you will come and join in the fun at the Outlawz. All new faces are welcome! Good Day
It seems winter has arrived. There is a crispness in the air that makes your nose running. Not that my family is as excited about it, as I am.
With the cooler weather my mojo was ignited. I really struggled these last few days, didn't even want to be in my craft room, but I believe all of us do struggle with it, from time to time. To celebrate, I did something out of my comfort zone. I am not very fond of making white cards. I tend to fill the empty spaces. Maybe it is too clinical for me. My digi is from Meljen's design and I used a Fiskar leave border punch and added some baker's twine with a leave brad.

Mother's day request
Good day
I had a special request for a Mother's day card. This is what I came up with. This is a freebie from Meljen's design and I thought it will just do the colour combo good. The designer paper is from First Edition and is called Spring Drop. I've used a Martha Stewart border punch, added a bit of beads and a butterfly with confetti flowers as finishing touch.

Pique-nique à la Française
Good Day
Hope you had a lovely weekend and that you are looking forward to this new week. Here, summer seems never-ending. I know some of my fellow countrymen would hope for a never-ending summer, but I do wish for a bit of winter.
When I opened my blog this morning Cupcake Craft Challenge has an Ooh La La challenge. That can be just French. Since I had some great memories of our stay there in the mountain areas and probably our favourite favourite way of relaxing were walking in the mountains and having a picnic next to a small stream, where my boys can play in. The French love walking in the mountains and to have picnics were they come.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I wanted to do another card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge MMSC138, this time the card has a bit more meat around the bone. The digi is from Shelly's image and is called wine basket and it have all the real good French picnic stuff: wine, cheese and baguette, oh and fresh fruit. The sentiment is from Desert Diva, I've just changes the background colour with Photoshop. Father's day is just around the corner. The dotted paper is from DoCrafts, that I got with Papercard essentials magazine.Used a cuttlebug emboss template on the red and used a torn ruler for the torn edge of the white that I distressed with chalk and I used my Crafter's companion ultimate pro to make the ribbon, it makes life much easier. I know the flag of France is vertical, but for my card I've turn the ribbons horizontal.

Going Green!
Good day!
Finally the idea strike me, yesterday afternoon while I was busy watching rugby. The Outlawz colour challenge this week is: New grass green, Classic Green Lime and Prairie Sage with the twist of a leave(CC050112). Not that I have a problem with the green, but nothing would come together. The peacock is the freebie at the new Digistamp4Joy. They are under new management and they have a few very talented artists in their group.....so pop over and join them. The other challenge I really wanted to join, which I tend to forget, since they moved monthly, is Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge MMSC138. Luckily they have a CAS style option as well, though I'm still playing with options on the alternative sketch as well. The papers is from my stash and I used a cuttlebug border emboss folder. The peacock, is maybe to small, but I wanted to keep the card a bit CAS, was coloured with aquarelles and then I used some perfect pearl in forever green and purple. Dotted some glitter in peacock blue as a final touch. The peel-off sentiment says Best Wishes.

New arrival
Good Morning
I have a list of chores to do....and I then ended up in my craft room. There are such a lot of challenges that makes my head working overtime, that I do not really know where to start. In the end the Play date café's colour challenge just got the final vote. It is round 17 at the Crafter's Digital Art centre and they have the theme of "You've got the cutest little baby face". This digi is from designed2delight and is called baby buggy. Have to admit that baby cards are currently not my favourite, since my babies are almost teenagers and I do not know a lot of mom's to be. The buttons on the Play date café's inspiration picture, did inspire me to use these buttons that I have found between my bead stash. I've used some rose emboss powder on my sentiment in Afrikaans saying: Congratulations. I also found these cute teddy bears in my stash that I added on my tag.
