In sympathy for a friend

Good day

A friend of mine's father past away on Tuesday and I want to make her something special. I used Floral Cross from Digistamp4Joy and sentiment from Desert Diva for this project. For something different I crisscross the ribbon through the cross and added the flowers from  second print. I played with some of my spellbinders for the center part and used some black peel-offs. I stayed with no designer paper in basic white, black and purple.

The following challenges inspired me:
Charisma Cardz #3 - Peel-offs
Creative Knockouts #22 - Tic, Tac, Toe - Distressing, Sentiment & ribbon
Digistamp4Joy #84 - Use real ribbon - 2nd entry
Crafting when we can #61 - Recipe - 1 image, 2 ribbons, 3 main colours
Dream Valley #74 - No designer paper

Thank you and have a beautiful day.
Hugs from Africa

Bling it on with Glitter 'n Sparkle Challenge

Good day

It is Sunday and time for a new challenge over at Glitter 'n Sparkle. This time we ask you to take out all your bling. I was given Eve from Crafty Sentiment. I have to admit music is such a universal theme and this card can go to anybody of any age and I just love to play with a music theme and in what better colour than black and white. I realy tried to make it look more girly though.
My back paper is black glittered paper from The Twinkle Glints stack from DCWV. I used a Sizzix music emboss folder on the white. Distressed with black chalk and I used some glitter music notes peel-offs. The sentiment is from Desert Diva. Spellbinder dies are: Labels eighteen, On the Edge, A2 Curved Matting Basics A. Flowers and rhinestones are from my stash.

Challenges I used to guide me:
Paper Crafting Journey - Vintage/Distress/Shabby Chic
Crafty Cardmakers and more #108 - Black and white
Craft your Passion #197 - Face the music

One day soon

Good day

Finally I had time to play with this image that has been on my table for more than a week now. My SIL is expecting her first baby in July and she thinks it's a girl. I didn't want to take the chance of making it pink so I played with a fresh green that resembles life and dark yellow. My paper is from the Spring Drop Collection and my digi is JJ pregnant from Bugaboo. I added some safety pins and confetti flowers to bling it up.

Challenges I'm joining:
Life in Details January Challenge - Bling it up
4 Crafty Chicks #178 - Bling
Digistamp4Joy #84 - Real Ribbon
Inky Impressions #143 - Ribbon
Party Time Tuesday #156 - Ribbon

Step Sister project for Sisterhood of Crafters

Good day

This is a special project for the Sisterhood of Crafters' challenge this week. The challenge is winter wonderland/snowflakes. I used Blue Jay from Fred She Said and I had to Google it to colour it. Cannot remember if I saw one in my life. I had to admit it was quite difficult to set my mind on snowflakes when it is 30°C outside. My gingham is from Graphic 45 French Country collection and the snowflake paper is from my stash. The sentiment is taken from Desert Diva and says Enjoy your Day. I used a pop-up punch for the snowflakes and some confetti snowflakes on the edge with pearls. I have dig out some of my forgotten corrugated board to give some dimension.

I used the following challenges as inspiration:
Just Us Girls #224 - Colour combo
Shopping ou Stash #135 - Winter blues
Digi Makeover Challenge #124 - Snowflakes
Digi Sketch Challenge - One for the men ( I turned the 90° to the right to fit digi)
Kaboodle Doodles #206 - Use Blue
Love to Create #99 - Use Buttons
The Cutie Pie Challenge #61 - Cute and blue (hope it is cute enough)
Anyone for Anya - January Challenge - Corrugated board

Hope you will come and join the Sisters (& little brother) in this fortnight's challenge!

I also want to thank the Darlene once again for inviting me to be part of their team for this month. Thanks Darlene!!
Have a fantastic day!
Hugs from Africa.

Tying the knot Bingo at Glitter 'n Sparkle Challenge

Good day

Glitter 'n Sparkle Challenge has one of my personal favourite challenges this week.... BINGO!! It just give a bit more flexibility in creating a project. I was given Tying the Knot from Floppe Latte, one of our sponsors this week. I ended up using pin and ribbon with my digi, though I had almost everything on my table.
For those following me will know I just love white on white wedding cards, but I opted for a peach colour this time, the lightest version in the orange spectrum, my total favourite to play with. I just love the warmth of the orange spectrum and you can almost mix it with any other colour even red.
I used my heart circle and splendid circle dies from Spellbinder, rounded my corners with a punch and the papers are from my stash. Sentiment is from Digistamp4Joy.

Challenges I'm joining:
Die Cuttin Divas #147 - Sketch - Heart Circle & Splendid Circle
Crafty Calender - Let's Celebrate

From the step sister.....

Good day

What wonderful surprise I got when, Darlene from The Sisterhood of Crafters contacted me over this festive season to ask me if I'll be the stepsister for January. Darlene has been one of my icons in Blogland and to be part of this group of talented ladies for a month is such a privilege. This weeks challenge is out with the old and in with the new and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
This is Katnis Sassy on fire from Sassy Studio Design and is this months digi for there progressive challenge with the twist of use folds. My designer papers are from Miss Empire from Kaisercraft. Love the bronze/copper foil dots and I complimented it with the glitter on her dress. So the old is the arch die from Sizzix, copper frame, basic cardstock, flowers and the new is the digi, paper and clock charm and on the edges of the DP I used a Spellbinder on the edge Shapeabilities.

I was inspired by the following Challenges which I enter:
Mema's Craft January Challenge - Bingo - Digi, Flowers, Charm, Free(glitter) 2nd entry
