Waving Christmas wishes

Good Day

The sketch at Catch the bug Stella says Sketch #120, just invited me to do something with it. Another Christmas card with a Tropical Santa from Bugaboo. This time I just feel like doing something more bright and I have find these checked vellum paper. I had to put a white underneath to bring out the colours. The ribbons is from My stash and I added a bit of glitter on the hat.

Thank you
Olga

A note on your birthday

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good Day
I've got this image from Digistam4Joy last week and I am super excited about it. For those whom have followed me for a while now, know I just adore frogs, not necessarily the real ones but images makes my brain working overtime. With the colour combo over at the Outlawz this week I've decided it will fit, since I'm a bit tired of Christmas cards. The ivy embossing is done with a Fiskar Shape boss floral template. The diecut is from Nellie Snellin, the sentiment from Desert Diva and the the scroll is done with a Cuttlebug template. for the twist I have found these leaves at a local store and I added some peel-off notes.

Challenges I'm joining:

The Outlawz Tuesday Colour combo - Yellow, Red and Green
Eureka Stamps #7 - Animals
Digistamp4Joy #51 - Leaves

Snip, snails and frogs in the pocket

My Two boys 8 years ago.

Good day

This past weekend I went through our photos and I saw this photo and I thought I'll share it with you. Being a mother of only boys I know of all the stuff they gather.....sometimes in our eyes useless, but in their imaginations unmissable. So with the few challenges going round for the quest of making boy cards, this image of Fred she Said came up immediately. This nice designer paper is from the Back to School stack from DCWV with some glitter on the frogs. The sentiment is a free translation of "What is a Boy" in Afrikaans. Then I played with my Cuttlebug emboss folder and a Fiskar border punch. The eyelet is from my stash.
Challenges I'm joining:
Dutch Dace Card Challenge #183 - Snips & snails - boy card (2nd entry)
Cards for men #20 - Animals
Daisy Doodle #68 - One for the boys

One got away

Good day

It is Friday and it is the beginning of a long weekend in South Africa. A lot of people are on their way to do some fishing this weekend. This is Gus Fish Whisperer, though he doesn't look very satisfied with himself and I think like all fishermen he too, probably have a story of the biggest one got away....once again. I did a different shape this time. Used a Grand Nestie Label one for the bottom part and repeated the shape on the front with a corner punch. Coloured it with H2O and did some chalking on the background. For fun, I added a fish brad from my stash.

Doggy Gift

Good Day

This morning when I opened Ursula's blog I saw her dilemma, where she saw a challenge and by the time she had time to finish her project the challenge has closed. I think it happened to all of us, from time to time. Time flies and as the year speeds to its end, even faster with all the appointments that fills our dairies. This is one of my projects that I started more than a month ago. I've printed the image to join Pattie's creations and when I finally finished it, it was 2 challenges later and it did not fit the criteria any more. Today she started a new challenge - Anything goes - this time, so just maybe it will fit the challenge. Ths is a digi I got through the CDAC progressive challenge and I just love this little doggy. The DP is from My Pet Stack from DCWV, that I had for ages now. I used a Fiskar emboss template on the white and light blue circle. The diecut is from Nellie Snellen and all the rest is plain card stock bits and piece on my desktop.

Challenges I'm joining:
Pattie's Creations #53 - Anything goes
MilkCoffee Challenge - Show at least 2 shapes
Use it Tuesday #39 - Anything goes

Hope this is a correct translation. The DP is from First Edition - Daydream. Belief in yourself

Good Day

It is the next round at CDAC progressive challenge you could be a star. This time we have received this digi fro Priscilla styles and was available in the plain, Christmas or Halloween. We do not celebrate Halloween, so I sticked to the plain one. This kitty sure looks as if he had enough. At first I thought I'll do a back to school thing were he is just to glad to have some peace at last, but then I got his sentiment from Christian D. Larson: "Belief in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you, that is greater than any obstacle" from Facebook and then I thought a bit of a caring card would do it a bit better.

Currently it is autumn in the northern hemisphere and I just love all the rich colours of browns and oranges. I also love A Die for a Sketch challenges, though they are new on the block and it is just for fun, they have such great inspiration, so pop over and join them, just maybe you can inspire them to get some sponsors since they are a monthly blog. I used a Cuttlebug leave border emboss on the brown, a Upikit border punch on the orange, Spelbinders Label one and the leaves were also punched.
Challenges I had in mind when I started my project:
A Die For A Sketch #4 - Sketch
CDAC Progressive Challenge - You could be a star cdacpc20, priscillastyles

Heart and thoughts

Good Day

I am stuck with black and white lately. I bought some beautiful papers, though I haven't used any, yet. CAS-ual Friday's challenge for Black, White and 1, red in this case tickled me to play again. I still have a few ideas, though my time is tight. The black textured paper is from my stash, I used a Spellbinder diecut for the border and the hedgehog and sentiment is from Penny Black's hugs series. I did the sentiment first in red and then with the black wit heat embossing to give it a bit of shadow effect, though I think I was not that successful this time. The velvet heart is from my stash and I made a insert cut on the hedgehog.

Challenges I'm joining:
CAS-ual Fridays CFC70 - Black, white and 1(red), 2nd entry
2 Sister's challenge blog #109 - Black, white and 1
Tammy's Scrppin Corner #28 - Anything goes

Skiing Santa

Good Day

I've decided to do the blog hop over at Craft Your Passion this weekend. It is all about sports and the ladies did an outstanding job with all there star creations. Their Monday challenge is also blast from past, meaning you can do any of their previous challenges, just stating which one. When I played a bit I decided that #38 suited me with red, green and cream (though my cream is probably more champagne). Then came the twist of a sport. I won some adorable Tropical Santa images from Bugaboo some while ago and it suite me so well, since I stay in the southern hemisphere, so Christmas is warm, it is in the middle of our summer holidays and most families gather on holiday next to the ocean or some form of water. The snow and all those image can not relate to our Christmases. From there my choice for this project - Santa doing some skiing. My papers is from Forever Christmas Cards paper stack from Hot off the Press inc. A stack I got last year with a magazine. I did some stitching on the ribbon to give it that pleads. Punch used is from Martha Stewart and the sentiment is also from the paper stack. I added rhinestones on the corners and stars on the sentiment - as required by the blog hop and I used some 3D white paint on Santa's beard.
Challenges I'm joining:
Craft Your Passion Blog hop - "All stars" Sports blog hop
Craft Your Passion #127 - Blast from the past #38 - Red, green, cream
Catch the bug September Bingo at bugaboo - Glitter, Stitching, Bugaboo Image
Cute Card Thursday #234 - Christmas in September

Hanging Balls

 Close-up on the balls
The Outlwaz Wednesday sketch challenge SC091212

Good Day

This is another Christmas card. Again I have dig into my stash. I have loads of Christmas peel-offs that I got with paper packs I've bought in France still.. Again with no stamped images in mind, I made this card, but this time I used the Outlwaz Wednesday sketch as inspiration as well as CAS-ual Friday's challenge of Black, white and one colour. I've used silver in this case, though I am playing with another idea in my head for the black and white. I've put the peel-offs on white cardstock, cut it out and mounted it on the black with foam glue dots, used a Martha Stewart border punch and some odd ribbon and a white gelpen on the border.

Thank you
Olga

Colourful Christmas

 Packet of 5 cards
Just Us Girls Colour Challenge

Good Day

I am super excited. I have finished my first packet of cards for our Christmas market in a about 5 weeks time. Yes, I am slow, but I have put out the next two weeks to do all my Christmas cards, so hopefully I can do a few more. I was inspired by two challenges. First, The Sisterhood of Crafter's challenge to make a project without any stamps - no rubber or digital. Though if you look at their creations will will never say that there are no stamps used. For some it is quite easy, but I tend to think about an image when I make a card. Then on Saturday The Just us Girls challenge us on making a rainbow colour project. Two years ago I made Christmas cards with these multicoloured rainbow paper with silhouettes on it and there were some off cuts left. The images are from Glue Dots Magic Motifs and I used a purple or blue glitter on it. The sentiment in Afrikaans - Merry Christmas - is a peel-off, that I bought recently.  Very simple, but I like the paper!

Have a blessed day!

You are...

Good Day

I'm sliding in on a banana skin with the dynamic duo challenge, but I just had to create this card and when it was finished the batteries gave notice so I had to recharge it a bit before I could carry on. I've used a pearl scent brazzille cardstock as base with some embossing on the edge, though it is not that visible. The image is from Bugaboo and I've decided I had to add these rose, though it is a bit lighter in shade than the required artichoke. I've kept is a bit clean since it is a condolence card.

Challenges I'm joining:
Dynamic Duos #19 - Cajun Craze & Always Artichoke
Twisted Tuesday 2TC23 - Never forget

Digistamp4Joy Challenge #50 inspirational photo
The Outlawz Tuesday colour combo

Good Morning

Today there is a chill in the air, just to remind us that winter does not yet said a final goodbye. Though everything have greeted spring with abundance, especially after last week's rain. For today's project I have used a rubberstamp that I had for ages now, but Digistamp4Joy have the rights to the digital images lately, which makes it much more convenient. I've coloured it with H2O and used a white gelpen and a black fineliner for the centres. I have torn some mulberry paper and used a music Cuttlebug emboss template for the blue. For a change I made a hexagon card and it is only 11x13cm. The twist on this week's colour challenge is to add brads.

Peeking in.....

Good evening

After I had this list of to do things made up this morning, my husband decided I have enough time to do the half of his to do list too. Finally my crafting time was much less than anticipated. Late this afternoon I finally had time to finish my project. I wanted to do this giraffe but just did not know how, until Mojo Monday introduced their sketch on Monday. This is a giraffe from Shelley's images. I've deliberately make him outside the diecut to make him look peeking in, from there my sentiment: Peeking in to say.... The giraffe paper is from my stash and I used spellbinders for the leaves. The tic tac ribbon is from my stash and just blended in.

CAS will it be

Good Day

One out of my comfort zone.....Firstly to do a clean and simple card and secondly for making a card without any stamps or digital image, is also not quite my style. I had this emboss plus template from Cuttlebug for quite a time and a sample is lying on my table, I was just not sure on how to put it together until I have found this sketch. The polka dot red is from the back - to - school collection from DCWV. I've used 2 different diecuts and used the same centre of the emboss template in the circle and used a peel-off sentiment saying best wishes.

Challenges I'm joining:
CAS-ual Fridays CFC69 - Emboss it
Sketch Saturday # 224 - Sketch
Jackson's Digital #22 - Clean And Simple cards
UnstampaBelles #15 - Embossing with no stamps

Viva Italia

Hallo

I've made this card for a friend whom celebrate her birthday soon. She loves red and green. Amazingly how you sometimes do not have the one thing like broad green ribbon. In the end I've done two rows of ribbon. The red corners is peel-off from my stash. The digi is from Joanna Sheen's Pamela West series. I've used a fineliner in green and red for the border line and the frame is done with spellbinders's beaded oval with textured paper. The sentiment: Happy Birthday is also a peel-off.

Challenges I'm joining:
Craft Your Passion #126 - Floral image

Dance of life

Good Day

We have such cold and wet weather, almost like on the under left photo, that I used the time to catch up on crafting. The colour combo from Play Date Café reminded me of a piece of voile ribbon in my stash, though it ended up not been used. The light is very poor, so included 2 photos to show the detail. The paper is from First Edition Daydream collection. The digi is from Whoopsi Daisy and is called dance 5. Such a cutie. The sentiment I've found on Facebook and if I translate it, it says: "When you  open yourself to receive with joy, you become part of the dance of life."

Challenges I'm joining:
The Play Date Café #148 - Colour Combo
Addicted to Stamps #2 - Sketch
